Beartooth play their biggest German headliner show in Munich

March 28, 2023

March 24th – A long-awaited tour finally happened – Beartooth came back to Munich and they brought two amazing bands along – Motionless In White and Stray From The Path. This tour was announced exactly two years ago. It should have happened in 2022, but was postponed to 2023. So it’s been a long time coming, but absolutely worth the wait. Earlier that day I got an email from Ticketmaster, that the show start was pushed back to 7.30 pm. Consider me surprised, when Stray From The Path went on stage at 7 pm sharp. Lately, it’s happening a lot, that show times are wrongly communicated. Always bad for the first band, but since it was a Friday night and all three bands already do have an established status among their fans, the venue was crowded, when Stray started their set with “Needful Things” from their latest record “Euthanasia”, which was released in 2022. They played a highly energetic set, with singer Drew Dijorio almost constantly on the move and jumping. People couldn’t help but [Read More]

Beartooth release deluxe edition of “Below”

March 18, 2022

Beartooth’s latest record “Below” is now available as a deluxe version with 32 (!) tracks. This version features two new bonus tracks: “Fighting Back” and “Permanently Sealed“, as well as a new version of the current radio single “Skin (Alternate Universe Version)” which mixes acoustic and electronic sounds. Also included are the complete 17 songs from the “Live From The Journey Below” live stream recorded in July 2021 at the historic Clyde Theater in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The presale for a 3-LP set of the deluxe version starts today on the band’s homepage. Frontman Caleb Shomo comments on the new songs as follows: “‘Fighting Back’ and ‘Permanently Sealed’ are undoubtedly experimental songs for Beartooth. I really tried to push the boundaries of what I’m doing with guitar, what I’m doing with my voice, and what I’m doing with the songwriting. The outcome may not have made the first cut of the album, but I think they’re definitely worth hearing and play a big role in how the record ended up turning out. I think it can [Read More]

Beartooth live in Munich with The Amity Affliction and Higher Power

February 26, 2020

Beartooth started this European/UK tour out with all dates completely sold out in advance. That itself speaks for the band and for the line-up of this tour. Special guests on that tour were Higher Power and The Amity Affliction. Leeds (UK)-based band Higher Power is, according to their facebook page, a Hardcore band. I don’t totally agree, because they are in fact not that heavy. They definitely have a funky vibe to their music. Whatever you want to call it, they might still be a relatively new band, but with their introduction to a wider audience through this tour, they hopefully will get more followers. Higher Power released two records so far, their latest one ’27 Miles Underwater’, came out in January 2020. Though usually the opening band has to play to only parts of the audience, since people tend to come in later when the first band is not that popular, that day, it was already pretty packed, when they started at 7 pm. The band played an energetic set. They were absolutely able [Read More]

Beartooth release long-awaited EP

September 15, 2019

Beartooth released their long-awaited EP ‘The Blackbird Session’ last Friday. There are four songs on it and for every track, there’s a video. You’ll find all the videos on the bands’ YouTube channel. They also did a full documentary, which you can check out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9G5mvU8gz60 ‘The Blackbird Session’ EP is Folk and Country inspired. It brings forth a fresh sound that fans haven’t heard or seen from the band so far. Presented in video-format, the EP shows Beartooth during the recording in the famous Blackbird Studios in Nashville, TN. The Blackbird Studios are owned by John McBride, the producer and engineer, that worked with greats like Garth Brooks and Martina McBride as well as pop titans Train. The idea to record a stripped-down, Folk oriented album in the Blackbird Studios, was very well received by John McBride, who encouraged the band to do the recordings and also acted as guest-engineer. “When the idea came up to do acoustic sessions, immediately my mind went to family holidays. Constantly surrounded by singing old hymns and harmonies [Read More]
