Devon Kay & The Solutions release cover of “Unwritten”

February 9, 2022

Devon Kay & The Solutions, who recently signed to Pure Noise Records, have released a cover version of Natasha Bedingfield’s ‘Unwritten’. Speaking about the cover Devon Kay said: “We made this originally for a compilation that scheduling kept us from being on. We sat on it a bit and thought, ‘This is way to good to not be unleashed on humanity’. And thus, here it is. The song is an absolute banger front to back! We did what we always do and shortened it for the attention span of ourselves and I think it makes the song that much doper. We channeled our inner Four Year Strong on this one and hope you dig it! We love you Natasha!”. Rotting Out release Nirvana cover “Even In His Youth”

February 9, 2022

American hardcore punk band Rotting Out have released their raucous cover of Nirvana’s “Even In His Youth” via Pure Noise Records. Speaking on Nirvana, Rotting Out vocalist Walter Delgado comments: “This band has always been an influence in the way I write lyrically, and just an important song growing up, finding it randomly on the internet”. Raised on the sounds of local LA heroes Suicidal Tendencies and Pennywise, yet fully indebted to the thriving Southern California hardcore scene, Rotting Out have continually created some of the most energetic and captivating punk/hardcore being played today. Their music expresses a certain LA grit that is so rarely captured by many hardcore bands. After disbanding from their original band, Dogpile, the band formed in 2007. Since then, they have released two full-length records and two EPs. With vocalist Walter Delgado’s arrest in Ohio and an 18-month sentence for transporting an estimated 700 pounds of marijuana, the band was forced to take a break. After a three-year hiatus, the band reemerged into the scene at the iconic Sound and [Read More]

Wars have released a brand new video for a cover of ‘Flames’, originally performed by MOD SUN and Avril Lavigne. The track follows their recent cover of Taylor Swift’s track ‘Exile’, both coming ahead of the unveiling of ‘Chapter Four’ of their upcoming album A Hundred Shivers. Speaking about the cover, the band stated: “We’re really deep into A Hundred Shivers now, and while we’re super excited about the next AHS chapter, it’s great to get to put out something totally different. We did both of these covers in lockdown, and we’re just really grateful we’re in a position to release them like this. “‘Flames’ is an incredible song; as soon as we heard it I think we all just felt like we’d love to be playing that,” they added. “Love these collabs that are springing up – MOD SUN’s vocals are killer in this and Avril is iconic.” MOD SUN has also heard of the cover, and upon hearing it exclaimed, “That is so fucking sick. Monster Magnet share cover song of Dust’s “Learning To Die”

April 21, 2021

Monster Magnet released a video for their cover of classic Dust track “Learning To Die” today. The new song is a first glimpse into the band’s upcoming new record, a cover album ‘A Better Dystopia’, which will be out May 21 via Napalm Records. While the album marks a new frontier for MONSTER MAGNET as their first covers record, this is not your typical set of standards released to pass time. A Better Dystopia sees the band pay homage to some of their favorite songs of all time, while reflecting on the paranoia, dystopia and revolution of both now – and then. Of the song selection, frontman Dave Wyndorf says: “‘Learning To Die’ blew me away when I was 15 and it still blows me away. Man, do I LOVE to sing this song. Dust was one of the greats.” Dave Wyndorf says about the birth of A Better Dystopia: “We all agreed that we would be bored out of our minds within a month of lockdown. MONSTER MAGNET loves the road. It’s a lifestyle. [Read More]

Check out the video here:   The Black Moods is a three piece band that I can describe as having great guitar driven songs, infectious melodies, energetic vocals and an upgraded version of old school rock and roll. Imagine the great songwriting of Tom Petty meets the energy and passion of the Foo Fighters along with a side order of Collective Soul.  They are Josh Kennedy on Lead Guitar/Vocals, Ryan Prier on Bass/Vocals and Chico – Drums/Percussion.
