Trivium parts ways with drummer Nick Augusto

May 7, 2014

We just received word that Trivium have announced they are parting ways with their drummer, Nick Augusto. They made the following post via their Facebook page:   To Trivium Fans, Friends and Family: I had asked everyone to make this statement regarding Nick, personally and on behalf of the band because of the history we both have had together as friends and bandmates. There is no easy way to go about parting ways with someone; whether it’s in a band or not, but if it is coming directly from one of us, I hope that it will be perceived out of our respectfor him. This past Sunday, Matt, Corey, and I decided that it was best to part ways with Nick and to move forward as soon as possible. This decision was not one that we took lightly, given the fact that we are in the midst of a tour, and more importantly, that Nick has been with us for almost 3 and half years. We spoke face to face for about an hour on [Read More]

Trivium unleashed themselves in San Francisco

October 22, 2013

Last week on October 15th Trivium gave a hell of a show at The Regency Ballroom in San Francisco. We got there in time to see DevilDriver open up for them and they did a kick ass show as well.  Then Trivium came out and just unleashed their ferocious selves on San Francisco! It was great to watch and see the action in the pit as well as everyone around. They were all having a great time. Check out a tribute video that Rockin Ryan put together to “BLACK” that includes footage and photos from the night.   One thing is for sure, these four guys come out blazing and don’t stop until they step off that stage. Stage presence is spectacular as their energy is just non stop. Matt Heafy on Guitar and Lead Vocals is definitely a crowd pleaser. Then you can’t stop going back and forth to watch madman Corey Beaulieu terrorize his Jackson Guitars and Paolo Gregoletto kills it on his B.C. Rich custom bass. Then you can’t help but look back and seeing [Read More]

Exclusive Interview with Ben Draiman on his cover of Disturbed’s “Stricken”

October 19, 2013

Just over a month ago, we featured the very talented Ben Draiman for our Tuesdays Travels pick. He had mentioned he was working on a cover he was soon to release. Well, the time has come and the cover is out and is AMAZING! Ben has released his new interpretation of Disturbed’s “Stricken“. As you might know, Ben is the younger brother of David Draiman from Disturbed/Device.  He has taken a great metal song and transformed it into a spectacular ballad. We had the opportunity to interview Ben to discuss more about this remarkable cover.  First check out the cover:   * * * * * * * *  Music Junkie Press: Thank you Ben for taking the time to talk with us about your recent cover.  I know that in the past you have covered another Disturbed song, “Darkness” as you paid tribute to your brother David while he was visiting you at one of your shows.  Can you tell us what made you choose “Stricken” for your next cover? Ben: It’s a good thing you [Read More]
