Cryptopsy in Berkeley: A night of Rage, Stage Diving and Death Metal Fury

May 16, 2026

Cryptopsy’s night of brutality kicked off with a fierce lineup of openers that each brought their own flavor to the chaos. First up was Blood Monolith, who wasted no time setting the tone for the night with an all-out death metal assault. Their drummer was absolutely insane, unleashing relentless blast beats that felt like they might shake the room apart. From the opening moments, they came out with one mission: get the crowd fired up and ready for what was ahead. Next up was Spirit Adrift, bringing a completely different vibe to the evening. Their mix of stoner and doom metal added diversity to the lineup and gave the crowd a chance to settle into a heavier groove. The shift in style worked perfectly, creating a different energy while still keeping the momentum rolling. The audience was fully locked into their vibe and welcomed the change of pace. Necrot hit the stage next and instantly reignited the room with explosive energy.Being from Oakland, it definitely felt like hometown support was in full force. Their set [Read More]

January 15, 2026

Canadian melodic death-metal band SELIAS is back with a new video for their track “Cautionary Tale,” taken from their latest album Killkarma, released through Wormholedeath Records. The song dives headfirst into a world of medieval battles, betrayal, and hard earned lessons, blending epic historical imagery with the band’s crushing melodic death-metal sound. Through a mix of thunderous riffs, soaring melodies, and relentless rhythm, “Cautionary Tale” feels like a dark story pulled straight from the past and set to music,  a reminder that conflict, power, and human nature tend to repeat themselves across time. The track hits with the kind of intensity that makes you picture armies charging into battle. With its cinematic atmosphere and brutal energy, the video brings that story to life, turning ancient warfare into a modern metal spectacle.  Check out the new track and watch the video here:   You can pick up Killkarma here  https://orcd.co/killkarma  Make sure to visit their socials and stay up to date on their latest news. Carnifex heavy it up with an intensely energetic set on the Ashes To Ashes Tour

March 31, 2015

We were glad to check out the final day of Chelsea Grin’s Ashes To Ashes Tour in Sacramento at the Ace of Spades this past weekend. The night included a variety of great bands and Carnifex was there to deliver a much needed heavy dose of modern death metal. It was great to see so many fans in the crowd sporting Carnifex merch and even more so to witness the intense magnitude of the circle pit and non stop crowd surfing. It was unbelievable to watch and you couldn’t help but get drawn in with their fierce vibe. You will also see that their sound appeals to generations as you will find old school metal heads headbanging to them right next to the up and coming generation. All fueled by their love of the brutal death metal music of Carnifex. Dead Asylum release new video for Forgotten Sacrifice

March 30, 2015

Metal/thrash band Dead Asylum have just released a new music video for their song, Forgotten Sacrifice. The dark video was directed and produced by Joshua Keith Young who comments, “The creative team wanted to make sure the video told a story but embodied the band’s personality as well. ‘Forgotten Sacrifice’ does a great job of featuring the band while telling a captivating and dramatic story that will affect people on an emotional level. Those words don’t often come to mind when describing a metal video, but the cast and crew are confident that when viewers see what’s being held captive in a barren dog crate, they’ll likely feel the same.” The video is dark and suspenseful with great visuals and a storyline that captures the band’s headbanging message in support of their debut album ‘General Carnage’ released in 2013, which is available on iTunes and CD Baby. Check the video out here: Vocalist/Guitarist Mike Lister comments, “We had a disturbingly fun time filming the video. All the actors and crew were great and unbelievably professional. Josh [Read More]
