November 22, 2016

Our new featured Spotlight Band, RadioBlack truly captured our attention as they bring to life a blend of nostalgic grunge and 90’s alternative rock, with modern flair. They are truly a powerhouse trio that are making a big impression on the music scene. The band is led by singer/guitarist TJ Courtney, drummer Derek Gledhill (founding member of Smile Empty Soul) and bassist Hayato Takano, a seasoned touring player. Prior to this new line-up, TJ recorded tracks at the Foo Fighters’ private recording facility, Studio 606, with producer John “Lou” Lousteau and a lineup of studio players including Taylor Hawkins (Foo Fighters), Rudy Sarzo (Ozzy), Chris Chaney (Jane’s Addiction), and Mick Murphy (My Ruin, Chevy Metal). The production team was rounded out by Fireball Ministry front-man and “Sound City” documentary producer Jim Rota, and Brad Smith of Blind Melon. The recordings will be featured on Radioblack’s debut album, slated for release in early 2017. They have recently released a new video premiered on Substream, that demands to be checked out! The song is Nothing Is Permanent and the video which was cut with footage lead singer TJ Courtney shot following a tornado that [Read More]

PHOTO GALLERY: King Shelter in San Francisco at Rickshaw Stop

October 4, 2016

King Shelter is from Orange County, California and has been described as a “Salad-Rock” band as they deliver  “a healthy mixture of rock, consisting of surf, grunge, alternative and anything in between. With the obvious layers of intertwining genres (or ingredients, like a salad) creating a unique sound, they also bring their complex lyrics and ideas to remind listeners to think for themselves and that no one person is better than another-in other words, it’s music made for the people, by the people.”  They have just released their new song, Everything Hurts which Taylor Hecocks comments, “‘Everything Hurts’ is my grandfather’s story. Life is hard. The American dream isn’t really a dream; it’s a vortex of preoccupations. But after all is said and done, the corner store is still gonna be selling those sweet cowboy killers n vodka. For the Krispis giveth and the Krispis taketh away.”  Check out the track here:   They recently made a stop in San Francisco and performed at The Rickshaw Stop. Grunge rockers Kinky Rhino have just released a great new video for their track Garage Roque which is off their self-titled EP.  It is fun, carefree and captures that garage band energy fused with grunge and straight up rock n roll. Red Sun Rising serves up a hefty dose of rock with their new video for Emotionless

February 19, 2016

Red Sun Rising out of Akron, Ohio have been capturing everyone’s attention with their infectious straight up rock that brings hints of classic, grunge and timeless rock and roll! They are back at it with a new video for their song, Emotionless. Guitarist Mike Protich comments about Emotionless: “Emotionless is unique because it came to me in a dream. The visual was vivid and haunting enough that describing it yielded song lyrics. It’s sometimes hard to understand something from the subconscious so our only hope was to create a song. With the help of Director Dylan Marko Bell, we finally brought everything to life… or lack thereof.” Check out the new video here:   They were one of our highlights at last year’s Aftershock Festival as they really brought the energy to the stage. The crowd was rockin out and loving every minute of it. We had a chance to chat with a couple of the guys after their set and if you missed it, you can check that out here: If you don’t already [Read More]

Check out Vinyette’s new video for Just to Get Away

July 7, 2015

Vinyette is a New York City indie/grunge rock quartet that will bring out the care free youthfulness of just wanting to get away with their latest video. They recorded their song, Just To Get Away at New York City’s legendary Magic Shop (featured in Foo Fighters’ HBO series Sonic Highways) and worked with renowned producer Jimi Zhivago(Norah Jones, Rufus Wainright). Check out the video here: Their style is a fusion of alternative, rock, pop, grunge and much more. They hold no genre boundaries to their music which allows them the freedom to create with passion. Vinyette recorded another song, “Charlie” after quitting  their jobs a year ago to hit the road for a four month journey that took them from the California coast to the underground clubs of Europe (including shows with Marky Ramone and Andrew W.K.). It is another great track, check it out here:   They will also be playing B.B. Kings Club (Lucille Bar & Grill) in New York City on July 17th. Twin Berlin does it again with their new release, Nate’s Volvo

June 18, 2015

Punk grunge rock band, Twin Berlin from Connecticut are at it again. They have captured my attention with another one of their new songs. They have just released a catchy new track, Nate’s Volvo that brings out the nostalgia of punk rock sprinkled with grungy garage band flair.  It is raw and organic, the way I prefer my music these days! Check out their new track: Nate’s Volvo by Twin Berlin The song is off their forthcoming new album, DROWNER. We will see if we can get more details for you on the new album as I am very excited for it. In a time where music seems to be transformed and repackaged in a state so far from it’s organic beginnings, it is refreshing to see a band like Twin Berlin spotlight the raw feel of their music.   For now, visit their social media sites and while you are at it, head over to their Bandcamp page and pick up their music. ~ Marisol Information & Links: Website: http://twinberlin.net/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TwinBerlin Twitter: https://twitter.com/twinberlin Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/twinberlinmusic
