Check out Alteras and get hooked on their new music

August 1, 2014

Alteras from Youngstown, Ohio are proving you don’t have to classify yourself in a genre, you just need to deliver great music! They can be described as hardcore, post hardcore, hard rock, whatever you want to call it. But simply put, they are five guys creating the music that is built on their passion. They almost remind me of a blend of I See Stars and 18 Visions. They have a great melodic style finessed into a heavier hardcore base. Perfect fit, so check them out. Here is a video for their song, Heartseaker which is off their EP Shapeshifter: The song comes from their six song EP Shapeshifter which was released in December of last year, available on iTunes, It is just now gaining momentum and they are getting the recognition they deserve.  You can also check out acoustic live version of Black Box: Band Members: Jake Clasen – Vocals Jordan Woolley – Guitar, Screams, Programming Mike Dulay – Guitar Tony Adams – Bass Matt Heitzer – Drums We will see if we can [Read More]

July 23, 2014

For Today have announced that they will be heading out on a fall tour with headliner, We Came As Romans and will include other supporting acts The Color Morale, Crossfaith and Palisades. This is one tour your are going to make sure you get your tickets for. What a high energy concert this promises to be!  For Today are currently finishing up Warped Tour on the main stage and have been a crowd favorite as they deliver a fierce spot on set every time.   We had the chance to chat with the inspring vocalist, Mattie Montgomerey before his set at the Wheatland California date. Mattie is truly one of the nicest guys and always has very inspirational advice. Whether you feel defeated, down, or facing a bump in the road, Mattie is always there to pick you p and let you know you can make it through anything. That is what I love about their music. You may not expect such great wisdom from a hardcore band but with For Today, you get bad ass [Read More]

Warped Tour has always been a way to introduce music lovers to new bands and especially with the Ernie Ball stage. We wanted to tell you about one of our Warped Tour highlights, the set by Battle of the Bands winner Gates of Ivory. Gates of Ivory performed on the June 21st date in Mountain View, CA at the Shoreline Amphitheater. We were excited to catch all the great bands and were literally running from one stage to the next. One of the stages we wanted to stop at was the Ernie Ball stage so we could see Gates of Ivory. I had a friend tell me to make sure to check them out. Well, I am glad we did! Check out the new EP Rise by Upon the Water for some new metal to lift you up!

July 15, 2014

Upon the Water is a metal/ metal core band from Southern California and they have a sound that is garnering a lot of attention. Their music can be described as metal with ambient and progressive tones. They bring depth and an honesty to their sound that truly will grab your attention. This young band is ready to have everyone take notice of them. They have recently released their six song EP Rise in June and takes you on a music journey of aggressive riffs, melodic guitars and fierce vocals. They have just released a music video for one of my favorite tracks on the EP, Solitude. The song has a very progressive ambient intro that sets an ethereal tone that creates an impact. Miss May I deliver a fierce kick ass set at Rockstar Mayhem Fest

July 10, 2014

Every time I see Miss May I, I get more and more impressed with their high energy powerful sets. This past weekend as we covered the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival in Mountain View at the Shoreline Amphitheater. We were at the Coldcock American Herbal Whiskey Stage promptly at 3:55 so we wouldn’t miss a second of Miss May I‘s set. Sure enough, they came out bustling with energy and had complete control over the crowd, infusing them with adrenaline. Everyone seem to be off their feet jumping, headbanging or with their fists in the air. It was an intense set and they played their fresh new take of old school metal that has longtime metal fans and new ones in acceptance. They have a very dedicated fan base which seems to span generations. Their new music has such a true old school metal sound but yet they have successfully infused their own new style and created music that everyone loves! Check out the photos by our Rockin Ryan of their set: Earlier this year, [Read More]
