Real Friends release new song “Tell Me You’re Sorry”

February 15, 2022

Illinois-based band Real Friends have released a new song, ‘Tell Me You’re Sorry’, which is out now via Pure Noise Records. Speaking about the new song the band said ‘We all have loved ones in our lives that have hurt us. Sometimes those people just keep living their lives as if they never even hurt us. They think since the situation has blown over that there’s no need for an apology. But at the end of the day, we all need that closure of a proper apology for those wounds to heal. “Tell Me You’re Sorry” explores the struggles of not being able to heal without hearing the simple words “I’m Sorry” from the person that wronged you. This is a very personal song for a few of us in the band. It is rooted from numerous strained relationships in our lives. We hope our fans will hear this song and connect with it. If the words and energy of this song can help one listener feel less alone, then we accomplished what we wanted [Read More]

Just Friends release new song “Basic” – new album “Hella” out March 4th

January 24, 2022

Leave it to Just Friends to make being called “basic” cool. The Bay Area crew’s highly-anticipated new album, Hella, will finally arrive on March 4 from Pure Noise Records (pre-order here), and its first single “Basic” ft. Lil B + Hobo Johnson is out today. From its triumphant opening and an impossibly catchy hook to the image of Lil B and Hobo Johnson “at the mooooo-vies,” the song finds these Northern California superheroes embracing all the things they love about their crew. In a time where close-knit groups are more encouraged than ever, “Basic” is an anthem about the simple life and spending time with your best friends doing whatever. “This song happened by accident!” laughs vocalist Samuel Kless (he/him). After a chance encounter during a protest last summer led to Lil B’s verse on the song “Stupid,” an unlikely collaborative kinship began to form and the Based God asked if there were any more tracks he could jump on. “Basic caught me by surprise, it’s so funny and silly, it makes me laugh and [Read More]

Real Friends release reimagined version of their brand-new singles “Nervous Wreck” & “Storyteller”

July 27, 2021

Illinois-based quintet Real Friends recently announced a new chapter of the band with new singles “Nervous Wreck” and “Storyteller” and today, they have released stunning reimagined versions showcasing the voice of new singer Cody Muraro. “When the idea of making reimagined versions of songs have come up in the past, we’ve always just made acoustic versions. This time around we changed it up by experimenting with different elements that normally aren’t used in Real Friends songs. It was refreshing and fun to step outside of our comfort zone, instead of just stripping a song down to acoustic guitar and vocals.” says Kyle Fasel. The reimagined version of Nervous Wreck is a perfect late night drive song. For this one, we leaned more into electronic beats, clean guitar tones and Cody’s softer vocal side. It brings a whole new perspective to the song sonically. The reimagined version of Storyteller is our nod to Death Cab For Cutie. From the drum tones to the piano, I’m really proud of this one. The way we relied more on [Read More]
