Melodic punk rock band, Moovalya from Phoenix, Arizona announces their Summer Exposure Tour set to start August 17th. Moovalya has been delivering solid punk rock music on the Phoenix scene since 2009. This three piece band shows you how much they love to perform as they played as many shows as they could. With that, they brought their energy to the stage and leave everyone wanting to see them again and again. Most anticipated CD Release, Sway by Blue October

July 25, 2013

With less than a month away, I am having a hard time containing my excitement for what is my most anticipated album release. Their seventh studio album “Sway” by Blue October is set to release on August 20th and it is definitely one I have been anxiously waiting for.  I have been a long time lover of Blue October and their emotionally driven music that truly has a life of its own. Their music has been there for me in my darkest times as well as my most celebrated moments. They are like that true friend that is always there for you; whether it is to ride out the storms or admire the beauty of the rainbows.  You can’t call us fans of their music, because once you fall in love with their music, you become a family.  I can’t tell you how  many times I have heard from people about how Blue October changed their lives, helped them through their deepest struggles, kept them going and inspired them to be a better person.  I [Read More]

Some Fear None, A must see band from Sacramento!

July 25, 2013

Sacramento, CA rockers, Some Fear None have a new CD out that you have to get your hands onto and your ears listening! I first saw this incredible rock band over a  years ago as they opened up for Burn Halo and Smile Empty Soul. We were blown away by the energy these rockers bring to the stage. You have powerful vocals by Nathan Giguiere, intense guitar work by Chuck Carrasco, slamming bass by Gina Salatino and pounding drums by Jason Weisker. You put these four together and you are completely captivated by their unique rock sound that blends everything from metal to alternative, to grunge and more. Their debut CD, “Break Hold and Elevate” is a work of art as you get a fusion of sounds reminiscent of early Deftones, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden as well as other bands like Three Days Grace, Seether, and more. They truly have created their own unique sound and don’t try to put themselves into any particular genre or subgenre of music. They do what they are best at, [Read More]

Top 25 Cover/Remake Songs You have to know!

July 23, 2013

I have always loved cover songs, most specifically cover songs that I end up liking even better than their original.  During many of my my interviews with bands, one of my favorite questions I ask is if they could take a song from any other genre and turn it into their own, what would it be?  I have had some great responses, like Jettblack rockers doing a cover of Tina Turner’s “We Don’t Need Another Hero“, or Wratchchild doing a cover of the Beach Boys, “California Girls” or A Story Beneath doing a cover of the Mamas and the Papas, “California Dreamin“. Those are all remakes that I  hope get made.  What I really like is when an artists takes the original song and completely makes it their own, truly owns it and not just imitates.  Haven’t you ever heard a remake where you are singing the lyrics and then it comes to you, that this is a remake of an old familiar song, just made completely different.  Well here is my list of my [Read More]

The Smiths + Dexys Midnight Runners and a side of The Cure = Apollo Junction. Great New Music

July 21, 2013

Music is always the master of my emotions. If I am feeling down and need to vent, I can always turn to  music to help me through the process. Or if I am feeling good and need music to just energize me and complement my good mood, I put the right songs on to do that.  Well, today I was in one of those where I am literally in a doldrum type of state and went to do some work.  I put on some of the music that was given to me to check out and I have to tell you…. it was like magic… My energy level quickly rose,  I couldn’t help but smile and instantly feel good. I love when music can take you to a great place, especially when it is the first time you hear someone.  Today I have Apollo Junction to thank for the great escape of their music! These 5 guys from London are really something to listen to.  As their bio describes perfectly, “Apollo Junction born into the [Read More]

Sick Puppies new CD, “Connect” is out!

July 19, 2013

Earlier this week, the new album by Sick Puppies, “Connect” came out. I have been a long time fan of these Australilan rockers and they never cease to amaze me. For them I have my new saying, ” I love you more than your last album but less than your next album”.  I can’t imagine ever loving them any more than I do and then… BAM… their new music just has me loving them even more. I just had the opportunity to listen to the whole “Connect” album and I am just in awe of this new phase of Sick Puppies!  I love when a band explores their adventurous side and steps outside their comfort zone and displays a new side to themselves. That is what I feel they have down with this CD. From the moment I first heard their new single, “There’s No Going Back” and it instantly became my favorite song. I just the chorus, the energy, the lyrics, everything!! As soon as I hear it come on the radio, I am [Read More]
