Check out Colossal Street Jam for your fix of 70’s inspired melodic rock and roll

May 9, 2017

For our next Spotlight Band, we would like to feature a band that is bringing back the feel good rock of the 70’s. Colossal Street Jam from New Jersey have released an 11 track LP, Living Free that will have you hooked from the first listen. It is a great heaping dose of 70’s inspired classic rock, full of great melodies, infectious vocals and feel good rock vibes. They comment about their music, At the end of the day, no matter what is going on, we did this for us. In the old days, we did this to be famous, to make money, and to be rock stars. Now, we’re doing this for us, and I think that’s why it’s working and getting a great response.  Check out their video for their track, I Can’t Take It: Band Members: Gene Potts – Vocals Sal Marra – Guitar, Vocals & Fender Rhodes Tony Flora – Bass Dave Halpern – Drums & All Percussion Eric Safka – Hammond B3, Piano, Fender Rhodes You can pick up the new [Read More]

Blues Rockers Kingsborough release new single and deliver stellar show at House of Rock

April 17, 2017

One of our favorite bands Kingsborough have had quite a busy weekend! The blues rockers were filming a music video Friday night and it included a night of great music, fans, massive bonfire and beer baseball. Then on Saturday night the boys delivered a stellar set opening for legendary rockers, L.A. Guns on their reunion tour at the RockStar University House of Rock. They were incredible as they unleashed their fusion of soulful blues and in your face rock! They literally bring an intensity to their music, soulful vocals that just grab a hold of you, catchy choruses, spectacular guitar solos, striking rhythms and big harmonies that need their own zip code. From Alex’s great finger picking, to Billy’s endless energy and charisma, to John’s heavy hitting precision drumming and Chris’s velvety smooth basslines – you are hooked!  When these four come together, they create something magical. As we have said before, this is one band that you can only be described as “ROCK AND ROLL AT ITS FINEST”. Check out some photos of their set [Read More]

SPOTLIGHT BAND: Italian alt-rockers Soldiers of a Wrong War and their new single, Yeah!

April 10, 2017

We are bringing the spotlight onto a great alternative rock band from Italy. Allow me to introduce you to Soldiers of a Wrong War. The band has released their new single, Yeah! which is off their second studio album, Countdowns. The new album is set to release April 18th and is now available for pre-orders viaiTunes. Bassist Adin Sulic comments, “When we wrote this song we were like: ‘This stuff sounds insanely like one of those rock’n’roll songs that make you wanna instantly dance and have fun!’. If you listen to the song, you can feel influences from the old school rock’n’roll scene of the mid 60s, early 70s, mixed with some alternative rock vibes from the ’90s. The catchphrase in the refrain, which is ‘It doesn’t make much sense, but I like it,’ basically represents the world we live in today.” “The infosphere is flooded with tons of content through social media every single day and it looks like you really don’t need a reason to like something. Even if it doesn’t make sense, if you [Read More]

SPOTLIGHT BAND: Old James is delivering a much needed dose of ROCK with their new video for Words as Weapons

April 5, 2017

We bring the spotlight on a kick ass band that we saw in San Francisco a couple years back opening for Girlschool. We are excited to hear that they are still killing it with their straight up rock dipped in metal. The band is the Canadian power trio Old James. They are soon to release their debut album, Speak Volumes and they have just released a video for their new track, Words as Weapons.  The song delivers us a heaping much needed dose of Rock with powerful riffs, the perfect balance of gritty and smooth vocals, strong melody, smoking guitar solo and killer drums.  They capture the raw intensity of old school rock n roll, yet bring an in-your-face modern intensity that has them capturing both the metal and rock scene. Check out the video here: Band Members: Brian Stephenson (Lead Vocals/Bass Guitar) Andy Thompson (Lead Guitar) Chris Stephenson (Drums/Backing Vocals) Get ready for their new music and make sure to share the video with your friends. Check out the track “Burn The Ships” from Blacktop Mojo, off their upcoming LP

March 8, 2017

We are only a couple days way from the release of Blacktop Mojo’s LP Burn The Ships. The LP is set to release this Friday, March 10th and can be pre-ordered through Bandcamp. The band comments on their title track, We all quit our jobs at about the same time to make this record and play as much as possible—that was our all in, no going back moment. It reminded me of a story we heard from the 1500s about a Spanish explorer that sailed to conquer a territory. Once they landed on the beach, he burned all the ships so all his men knew one thing was clear, there’s no going back. That’s what that song is about, and that’s the story of our lives at the point of the record being created.” – Blacktop Mojo You can take a listen to the title track here: This is one album that you will want to pick up! It is refreshing to hear such determination and rock n roll passion as in their music. Make [Read More]
