Set It Off live in Munich with Point North, Call Me Amour and TSS

February 16, 2025

It was a Monday night, not the typical day for a full-house event. Not so last week, when Set It Off came to our beautiful town of Munich. The tour had been announced months ago and it didn’t take long until the show was sold out. Last time they played here has been about a year ago, when they opened for I Prevail. It was a bigger lineup, four bands in all. All the more surprising, the venue was packed, when the first band, TSS from France, came on stage. TSS is a modern metal band. They play a mix of emo, metalcore, alternative rock, and synth elements. They’ve never been here before, but judging the crowd’s response, you wouldn’t have guessed that. The usually more calm audience was really moving to the catchy songs. The Sunday Sadness, short TSS, use french as well as english lyrics, which makes the songs a bit more special. The band signed to Fearless Records in 2024 and I’m sure they have an excellent future ahead. If you have [Read More]

Set It Off share new single “Protector”

January 22, 2022

Alternative trio Set It Off delivers the high-energy single/music video “Projector” on January 21st, available worldwide via Fearless Records. Following their latest single “Skeleton,” “Projector” further teases their upcoming album “Elsewhere”, which premieres on March 11th. “Elsewhere” promises to divulge an unseen vulnerability to Set It Off’s musicality, in addition to varied moods and worlds for listeners. With an in-your-face attitude, Set It Off is releasing all of their pent-up aggression off of their chests in “Projector.” Enough is enough, and instead of aiming your inner turmoil at others, the band simply emphasizes that people need to listen more and talk less. Discussing the inspiration of “Projector,” singer/lyricist Cody Carson describes “the amount of people that end up entering my life that are incapable of saying ‘I’m wrong,’ ‘I messed up,’ or ‘I’m sorry’ is baffling to me. Instead you’re met with finger pointing, excuses, and anger. They project their issues onto other people or even onto you just so they don’t have to face it themselves… I just want people to be able to [Read More]

Stand Atlantic release new single & video for “Molotov”

November 6, 2021

Stand Atlantic released their new single “Molotov” on November 5, 2021 through Hopeless Records. Following the success of their latest single “deathwish (feat. nothing, nowhere)”, Stand Atlantic is finishing 2021 with one of their most aggressive, punk/hardcore-leaning songs yet. One of the heaviest releases from Stand Atlantic yet, “Molotov” is an expression of rage and frustration at the religious/societal structures of homophobia that lead singer Bonnie Fraser encountered (and still continues to face) growing up in a religious environment. Fraser is using this release as a way to fight back against the harmful rhetoric that she faced and more importantly, as a way to signal to those who have been through similar situations that they are not alone. Fraser shares on this release: “I went to a christian school for 3 years of my life and when a pastor says ‘all gays will burn in hell’ during an assembly, you’re gonna remember it, and you’re gonna write a song about it. It baffles me how someone can believe something so negative about someone yet act [Read More]

Set It Off release new music video for Hypnotized

April 17, 2017

Set It Off have just released their new music video for their track, Hypnotized. The song is off their latest album, Upside Down and the video was directed by Matt Alonzo (Xzibit, Tyrese, The Game). Frontman Cody Carson comments, “We are extremely proud to present the music video for our latest single “Hypnotized”. Writing this song was an extremely cathartic experience with all of that pent-up anger being let out; Making this video felt no different. We understand how important it is to be able to let out your anger, unleash your inner demons, and just act out every once in a while. Songs like this allow you to do that.” Adding a special note to fans he shares, “We also realize that this is one of your favorite tracks on Upside Down and we love giving you all what you want. So watch, enjoy, like, and share this video with all of your friends and make sure to sing it nice and loud when we see you in your town next!” Check out the video here: [Read More]
