Our Spotlight Band is CREEPER and check out their new video!

January 28, 2016

For our spotlight band I would like to feature goth punks CREEPER as they are set to release their new EP The Stranger on February 19th. They were recently added to Radio 1’s In New Music We Trust List yesterday, they build towards its release by unveiling the video for ‘Black Mass’. Vocalist Will Gould comments about the video: “The concept behind the video is a dream that our EP’s cover character named Madeline is experiencing. She’s in the middle of an episode of sleep psychosis with the band performing to her in her dream. She awakes to find herself in her bedroom. The song’s lyrics are written from the perspective of the character of The Stranger, the heartbroken monster who is the EP’s namesake. They’re partly inspired by recounts of sleep paralysis, where sufferers describe seeing a ‘black matter’ or ‘black mass’ haunting them in their rooms at night, while they lie paralysed in bed.” Check out their video for their bad ass new track,  Black Mass:  I love the fresh new sound that CREEPER brings out but [Read More]

Our Spotlight Band is The Banshee Pilot and check out their new video!

January 7, 2016

Allow me to introduce you to what might be my new favorite band! I was recently introduced to The Banshee Pilot as they have just released their new video for the single “If You Wanted Riches, Honey You Should’ve Married a Doctor.”  It is refreshing to hear a band bring such depth and varied influences into their music and seamlessly fusing it together into their own soon to be signature sound. They bring everything from rock, alternative, theatrical rock, and much more. Their music instantly catches your attention and makes a statement to be heard. Check out their new video which the band explains, “Filming this video was a test of teamwork, hard work, and passion. The journey led us almost to being robbed at gunpoint. If you take anything from this video…heartbreak knows no discrimination.” The song is off their new self titled EP which can be picked up on their Bandcamp page here: https://thebansheepilotofficial.bandcamp.com/.  They are planning on heading out on tour in support of the EP this year and we can’t wait! Our Spotlight Band is Atomic Symphony from Switzerland

December 31, 2015

For our Spotlight Band we would like to introduce you to a great symphonic/progressive metal band, Atomic Symphony from Switzerland. They have released their debut album Redemption this year and have been garnering a lot of attention for their progressive metal that takes you on a symphonic journey. The self produced album contains 9 attention grabbing tracks that highlight their musical prowess. One of my favorite tracks is the hauntingly beautiful Face The Evil or the explosive Shattered. You can’t help but feel the intensity that their music brings out. Walk Through Fire and Pain is one to have on repeat! Our Spotlight Band is Sonicspoon from Madrid, Spain

December 18, 2015

I love it when I am introduced to a new band and they immediately rise to one of my top favorites. This happened recently after checking out the new video from Sonicspoon out of Madrid, Spain. They recently released a video for their song, In This Pale Blue Dot. It is so refreshing to hear a band that is not trying to jump on the latest music trends or hybrid genres. Sonicspoon is pure rock that brings hints of classic rock, alternative and so much more. Sam Gomez comments about the new video, “In This Pale Blue Dot” was the last of four songs for our first EP. Although we were working with another track before, it came together organically and, just a few days before we went to the studio, it was finished. I wrote the lyrics the night before going to Pull & Push Studios to record the vocals, but they were about something completely different. That night, while I was watching some science videos, I was really impressed with how Carl Sagan [Read More]

Our Spotlight Band is The Knitts from Los Angeles!

December 15, 2015

It frustrates me when someone tells me that they can’t find any new music to get excited about. They obviously are just listening to their regular playlist and have not made themselves accessible to the new music. There is a band that I am very excited about and wanted to share with you. Check out The Knitts from Los Angeles. First off, they are not a new band since they formed around 2011 but they are definitely new to me and I am lovin what I am hearing. They have the vigor of a garage rock band with a punk edge that will grab your attention. They have recently released the first single, Get Up Get Out which will be on their 2016 EP. Check out the song here: The Knitts are: Charlie Volkens – Guitars Justin Volkens – Vocals, Ukulele Jaime “Jimmy” Luque – Guitars Victor Portillo – Bass Brandon Sinclair – Drums Upcoming tour dates include: Friday, December 18 – Maui Sugar Mill Saloon – Tarzana, CA Monday, December 28 – Skinny’s – North Hollywood, CA Monday, [Read More]
