The Word Alive – Anniversary tour 2019 – with Aviana, Of Virtue and Make Them Suffer in Munich at the Backstage Halle (05/09/2019)

May 17, 2019

Phoenix-based Band The Word Alive formed in 2008. In 2009 they already signed to Fearless Records and later that year the band released their debut EP ‘Empire’. Fast forward 10 years and here we are. The band is currently on a anniversary tour run, which they started with a few dates in the US, followed now by an extensive European/UK run, which includes a performance at the famous Slam Dunk festival on May 25th/26th in the UK. Anniversary tours always promise to be something special, no exception with The Word Alive. They brought a huge set-list with them that included 17 songs from every era of their career. Over the last few weeks the band asked the fan via social media which songs they’d love to hear live and made clear, that for some songs it’ll the be the last time to be performed live, esp. the early songs. The tour line-up this time was a bit diverse with Make Them Suffer as arguably a pretty heavy band being the ‘odd one out’ that night. [Read More]

December 5, 2018

In October The Word Alive introduced ‘Rise’, the new League Of Legends theme song, which they were part of alongside Mako and The Glitch Mob. The video got over 7 million views in the first 24 hours alone. Definitely a new highlight of their career was the live performance of the song at the opening ceremony of the World finals in Incheon, South Korea. Watch it here: Today the band released a brand-new song ‘Human’, taken from their current record ‘Violent Noise’. Check out this amazing video (feat. The Word Alive – Munich – Technikum – January 30th, 2018 Not a headliner show this time. The Word Alive were opening for Falling In Reverse. But no matter what, the band always gives it their all. Clearly their fanbase is growing in Germany, because parts of the audience seem to have been there only to watch them play. Currently they are working on a new record, which will be released this year and with a bit of luck, Germany will see the band live again this year. Concert review: Attila, The Word Alive and Carcer City by Alex Bock

April 30, 2017

Munich, Backstage Halle, April 25th, 2017 Another night in my 2nd living room… only one of the venues was occupied that night, the Halle and I was heading there to see Attila with special guests The Word Alive and Carcer City. Opening band was Carcer City. They’re a five piece from the UK, signed to Stay Sick Recordings (Chris Fronzak’s label). Their sounds is probably nothing really new, but what new band can create something that hasn’t been there before? Never the less, they played a good live set. Even though at the beginning the venue wasn’t that packed, they managed to get the people closer to the stage and mosh to the music. The Word Alive and Attila both played an almost equally long set. Looking at the people, both bands seem to share the same audience, because there were many people in Attila shirts singing and jumping along during The Word Alive’s set and vice versa. The Word Alive played a set list with a mix of new songs like ‘Misery’ and [Read More]
