Feel the love as The Secret Sisters honor Father’s Day with tribute video of their track, Carry Me

June 17, 2017

The Secret Sisters have released a very beautiful Father’s Day Tribute video for their track, Carry Me which is off their highly praised album, You Don’t Know Me Anymore. The video was produced by Mark Slagle and serves as a tribute to Laura and Lydia Rogers’ father Ricky Rogers (of the progressive bluegrass band Iron Horse). It features home video of the sisters with their father as well as clips of some of their friends’ families, which includes John Paul White (of The Civil Wars) and his children, combined with studio footage of album co-producers Brandi Carlile and Tim and Phil Hanseroth. Of the song and video, The Secret Sisters offered to Paste, “It’s easy, as a woman, to write a song about the men who’ve broken your spirit. It’s a different task entirely, to sit down and write a song about the first man to hold you, the first man to proclaim that you are beautiful, the first man to express his lifelong love for you, the first man you learn to love in return. Thank you David Bowie for being the soundtrack of my life. 20 Favorite David Bowie Tracks.

January 11, 2016

It is just heartbreaking for me to report the news of the passing of David Bowie earlier tonight. I ran across the news on David Bowie’s Twitter account and I was shocked. January 10 2016 – David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18 month battle… https://t.co/ENRSiT43Zy — David Bowie Official (@DavidBowieReal) January 11, 2016 After checking and rechecking with numerous sources, in search of the confirmation that it was an internet hoax, I broke down when I read the tweet from David’s son:   Very sorry and sad to say it’s true. I’ll be offline for a while. Love to all. pic.twitter.com/Kh2fq3tf9m — Duncan Jones (@ManMadeMoon) January 11, 2016 I couldn’t believe that the man whose music was literally the soundtrack of my life has passed away. He had just released his new album, Blackstar only two days ago. His new album had been described by The Times, as Bowie’s oddest work yet. But as I listen to it, I hear the innovative, every changing, evolving music of a [Read More]

Chrissy Amphlett of Divinyls dies at young age of 53

April 22, 2013

Chrissy Amphlett Rest in Peace October 25, 1959 to April 21, 2013 Today I got the shocking news that we lost Chrissy Amphlett of the Australian rock band Divinyls to her battle of breast cancer. Chrissy was truly one of the most influential musicians for me when I was growing up from a rebellious teenager into an independent woman. Many people know of the Divinyls from their huge international hit, “I Touch Myself” in the’90s but long before I was already in love with many of their great songs like “Good Die Young”, “Pleasure and Pain”, and ‘Boys in Town”. I am going to have see if I can find my old cassettes, I swear I must have worn them out. Chrissy had such a great voice and her exuberant personality had everyone falling in love with her and their music. I can remember when I used to play my Divinyls cassettes and it wasn’t until I played their hit single, “‘I Touch Myself” that my parents literally told me they didn’t like me playing [Read More]

Clive was a young one at only 56 years old. Clive was known to be someone who didn’t let his illness take over his great personality and optimistic attitude. People said that he was always in a good mood and a great guy on top of being an incredible drummer.
