Countdown of 14 Bands that will rule in 2014! #14 goes to Monster Truck!

Today we start a very new special countdown for the end of the year. Now is the time when we countdown the 14 bands that we think will rule in 2014.  We start at number 14 with Monster Truck! Hailing from Ontario, Canada these guys are true to form rockers. What started as a formation of musicians from various Canadian Indie bands, quickly gained momentum and the attention that they deserved.  This past year I was first introduced to Monster Truck and instantly fell in love with them.  They have successfully revived my love for vintage rock blended with groove filled bass, stellar riffs, thundering drums and powerful vocals. What more can you ask for?

Monster Truck is Jon Harvey on Bass and Vocals, Brandon Bliss on Keys and Vocals, Steve Kiely on Drums and Vocals and Jeremy Widerman on Guitar and Vocals. Together these four guys deliver well crafted and seasoned rock n roll. Monster Truck took home the 2013 Juno Award for Breakthrough Group of The Year which is no surprise to me.  Earlier this year, they released a lot of radio airplay for their single, “Sweet Mountain River” of their album FURIOUSITY and they quickly gained from fall over the world. They recently released “The Lion” as their follow up single  and is just as amazing. It has been getting wide airplay in Canada and has a release date for US radio in early 2014. You can check out the lyric video for “The Lion” here:

 

Now if you haven’t heard of Monster Truck by now, well I know that 2014 is about to be there year! Some people say this year was quite a successful one for them as they really got their name out there but next year, watch out… it will be the year for Monster Truck!

Monster Truck recently announced that they will be touring as direct support for Buckcherry in January and February of 2014 starting off in Idaho Falls, ID and wrapping it up at the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, NJ.  This will be quite a tour. Singer Jon Harvey offers, “Very excited to rip around the US and Canada with the Buckcherry dudes. North America…get ready to have you face melted!”
