We have been anxiously waiting and the time has arrived for the release of the new album Illusions by Tempting Fate. Tempting Fate was featured in the Number 5 spot on our Countdown of 14 Bands That Will Rule 2014 and they are definitely ready to dominate! The album Illusions was released on April 11 and it is every bit as good as we were expecting! Hailing from Los Angeles, California is American Metal band Tempting Fate and was formed in 2009 by brothers Shane and Cory Beecher. Tempting Fate has Cory Beecher on Vocals, Shane Beecher on Guitars and Electronics, Matt Campbell on Bass and Austin SinClaire on Drums. They had created their own unique sound Dub-Metal that has everyone taking notice. Their new album takes them in a bit of a heavier direction yet it highlights their creativity and talent as musicians and you are gifted with an album full of amazing, high energy songs.

Shane explains more about the album, “We wanted to make an album that we wanted to listen to. You always hear about bands making an album for the fans, which is really cool, but that’s not what we were going for with this album. The new music is heavy, really heavy, both musically and vocally. We wanted to do something that was brutal, yet melodic; something that had a meaning and made a statement. I’m sure our existing fans will listen to the new music and think “Is this the same band? Did they get a new singer?” Well nothing has changed except our ideas and the direction we want to go in.”

This album is really a complete work and displays how much they have grown as a band with their creativity and refined their sound. On Filthy, there is a bad ass guitar solo with great tone and Shane’s signature squeals. Get Weird starts off with a punch in your face attitude that gets you pumped up and has a catchy jumpin chorus. Of course one of my favorites is still Get Up which is one of those songs that from the first listen, you are injected with high octane non-stop energy. It has some bad ass drums with powerful guitars, along with the slamming bass and the in your face vocals. Check out Get Up here with their lyric video:

Run has a really unique double bass sound and emotionally driven lyrics and once again highlights the great guitar work on the album. State of Unrest starts off with a cool intro, fierce guitar riff and has some great brutal low screams/vocals. Illusions is definitely an album you are going to have to add to your regular playlist.
