Tom Keifer releases video for The Flower Song

December 2, 2013

Growing up in the 70’s/80’s, I listened to a LOT of ROCK n ROLL. One of my favorite bands from the 80’s was the Philadelphia based blues rock band CINDERELLA. I went to many of their concerts to just to hear the raspy, distinctive gritty voice of Tom Keifer. His vocals were incredible and always drew me to their music. Earlier this year, Tom released his solo record, The Way Life Goes on Merovee Records (through WMG ILG) and went out on tour in support of the album. Tom has two singles out from this spectacular album, Solid Ground and The Flower Song. Today Tom released the video for The Flower Song which is one of my favorites off his album. You can check it out here:   We also had the opportunity to interview Tom earlier this year and are pleased to repost that interview for you  here: * * * * * * * * * * Music Junkie Press: Hi Tom, Thank you for taking the time out to talk with us here at Music Junkie [Read More]

The Broken Ravens new single; Pressure is out NOW!

December 1, 2013

It is that time! I told you a couple weeks ago about an amazing new rock band from Scotland, The Broken Ravens who were out Tuesday Travels Pick of the week. You can read more from that post here. Well, they just released their new single, Pressure and it is incredible. Hailing from from the Stornoway from Isle of Lewis, Scotland, The Broken Ravens are soon to be one of your favorite  new bands. They remind me of a mix of Black Sabbath with Soundgarden. The Broken Ravens are Kevin Clark on Drums, Lotto Ferguson on Bass/Vocals, Calum ‘Thrash’ Macaulay on Guitar/Vocals and Bugsy Maclean on Guitar/Vocals. The band has been working hard on putting the final touches on their debut album. Kevin says, “Just now we are putting together demo’s for an album. We have quite a few finished (11 or so) and want to put out the strongest album we can. We are also releasing our first single in a couple of weeks, available through every major digital retailer, we recorded, mixed, produced and will be releasing ourselves [Read More]

Interview with Full Moon Rising; a truly heartwarming musical project

December 1, 2013

Music has always been that special friend that I can turn to in times of trouble, times of celebration or just plain anytime!  Music truly has a magical effect on me and I love when the first time I hear some music, it truly touches my soul and makes a positive impact on me. Recently for me, that music has been of Full Moon Rising. I learned about Full Moon Rising shortly after we ran our interview with Raz Klinghoffer of EarlyRise. Full Moon Rising is an International Music Project by the highly talented Daniel Tyler Pohnke. Shortly after losing his mother in 2000, Daniel was inspired to write his first song. That was the beginning of the heartwarming and soul touching journey of Daniel’s music. He then set off to record his songs in various countries collaborating with a different producer and unique culturally diverse musicians on each track. From that, “Brave New World – The Time is NOW!” was born.  It is an amazing work of art that captivates your every emotion and [Read More]

Kyng gives San Francisco a dose of rock and roll

December 1, 2013

Earlier this week, the Hell Pop tour came in to  San Francisco and on the bill was All Hail the Yeti, Kyng, Motionless in White and In This Moment. One of the highlights of the night was Kyng. The last time I saw Kyng was when they played the Dean NAMM Jam which is typically filled with buyers, distributors, vendors, artists and not your typical rock audience but Kyng killed it that night. Despite the audience who many remained in their seats, we were standing up and rocking out and enjoying every minute of it! This time, they were playing at The Regency Ballroom and they came out and delivered another high energy filled set. These three guys truly create a powerful sound and you can’t help but rock out in full fist in the air, headbanging style. You have Tony Castaneda killing it on Bass and Backing Vocals, madman Pepe Clarke on Drums and fierce Eddie Veliz on Guitar and Lead Vocals. Their adrenaline becomes infectious and soon you are just in full KICK ASS ROCK MODE!
