December 17, 2013

Today we are at #8 on the countdown of 14 bands that will rule in 2014. We are pleased to bring you While She Waits, a Hard Rock Rock band with some Southern flare from Phoenix, Arizona that are rapidly gaining attention in the music scene. They have been signed to TMG Records and are currently working on their next album. 2013 has brought them a lot of much deserved attention. With their Southern Rock sound that rumbles in like a rock n roll freight train, you just  have to hop on board and enjoy While She Waits. Their music is filled with catchy hooks, powerful lyrics, nice thunderous double bass drums like cannons being set off, amid some crunchy slamming bass lines. From first listen, their music enters, and you literally feel all your senses awaken and you are held captive by their songs. Check out their video for one of their bad ass rockin songs, “Stars and Bars” here:   We spoke to singer,James Ryan Cole and he was telling us about what [Read More]

Day 4 of Guitarists goes to Jacky Vincent

December 17, 2013

Day 4 of Guitarists goes to one of the most awesome shredders out there today, Jacky Vincent. Many may know Jacky as lead guitarist for Falling in Reverse but he also has a bad ass solo album that highlights is amazing guitar playing. Jacky has impeccable technique and is truly a guitar hero. His solo album Star X Speed Story and it literally takes you through his high energy, lightning speed shredding. It is one of the top guitar instrumental albums out, right up  there with Steve Vai, Jason Becker, Paul Gilbert and my true favorite; Michael Angelo Batio whom Jacky credits a lot of his guitar playing. Some of my personal faves on the album are Without You, Runaway Tryst, Venom Love, Fatal Envy and of course Maybe I am a Wolf.  When you listen, you can seriously feel his guitar singing to you, it is absolutely magical how he makes each note come to life.  You can pick up his album by heading over to Itunes here. You can check out a tribute [Read More]

December 16, 2013

The video is finally here! Red9 released their video for “Ignoramus” from their new album “Under Dark Skies”. Their album is filled with some KICK ASS Rock n Roll and you can read my full review of it here. It is a great video and I just love the bad ass bass in that song! It  dark edgy sound with an exuberant build up that just delivers another well composed song from Red9.The video is incredibly entertaining and was directed by Raúl Gonzales (RSM Creative).  Red9 does seem to put out some of the best videos in the industry lately! Check out the video here:   These guys are a powerhouse of rock and adrenaline. Red9 is Paul ‘Friz” Frislie on guitars, Giovanni ‘Gio” Fuentes and Jeff on bass and vocals. Together they create a true rock sound and I am hoping for a Bay Area show soon. I am going to need my Red9 Fix! They have a sound similar to Tool and a grungier Nine Inch Nails. Jeff on bass really captivates you with his exploding [Read More]

Day 8 of 12 Days of Bands You Have to Know goes to BlackRain

December 16, 2013

Let’s get down and dirty for Day 8 of 12 Days of Bands You Have to Know. How about some French glam rockers, BlackRain for Day 8?? These bad ass rockers first started in 2006 and quickly rose to fame in Europe and have become one of the most noted French rock bands.  You have Swan on Vocals and Guitars, Max on lead guitar and Mat on Bass and Frank on Drums. The first time I heard BlackRain is when my son Rockin Ryan played Overloaded for me and I was instantly transformed back to my nights spent on the Sunset Strip in the ’80s. At first I thought I was listening to an old Motley Crue track!! Swan on vocals just blows you away with his powerful voice and he has perfected the high vocal ranges of the ’80s. They have some shredding guitar with off the hook riffs.   You have to check out  Overloaded here:   Last year, BlackRain showed an excellent display of their risk-taking as they dared to take part in [Read More]
