Burnos releases a bad ass new song, Warship!

February 7, 2014

Today Burnos released their new song, Warshiop and it is definitely a great one! We featured Burnos as our Day 2 of 12 Days of Bands You Have to Know. You can read more about that here. Burnos is Melissa Burnos on Vocals, Eric Friedman (Creed, Tremonti, Projected) on Guitars, Garrett Whitlock (Tremonti) on Drums and Brian Weaver on Bass.  Burnos has been tearing up the air waves with their kick ass song, Octane and now they are treating us to another great hit. Burnos delivers another fully adrenalized song in Warship. It is a perfect display of PURE HARD ROCK which we need more of, no fluff, no core, just down and dirty real rock and roll.  We really can’t wait for their album and once again Melissa has left us begging for more. She has really come on strong to the music scene and just amazes me with her talent. So make sure to head over to Itunes here and pick up the new song! They have already started playing it on XM Sirius Octane channel and now [Read More]

Jeff Hanneman gets Traffic circle named after him in Poland

February 7, 2014

Last year through a charity auction, a company Art-Com Ltd. won the rights to rename a traffic circle for a period of one year. The money donated for the name change will be going to fund medical equipment for children and seniors.  Art-Com, being the bad ass metal lovers, decided to pay tribute to our fallen metal guitarist, Jeff Hanneman of Slayer. Jeff Hanneman died May 2, 2013 from cirrhosis of the liver.  So now the traffic circle in  Jaworzno, Poland has been renamed Jeff Hanneman’s Circle Pit. You can watch a brief video clip of the sign change here:   That is soooo METAL!!! Thanks Art-Com for honoring the great Jeff Hanneman, truly a spectacular shredder and an amazing person. He was loved by all and is greatly missed. It is nice to see him getting this honor. ~ Marisol

Help The Brave Ones create their album and join the fight against Cancer!

February 6, 2014

As many of you know, I am a big supporter of musicians utilizing the crowd source funding as options to create their music and become their own label.  With sites like Kickstarter, PledgeMusic and IndieGogo they allow the artists to create their album on their own and you can be a part of it with your contribution. Also along with your contribution, you can get some cool perks. Tonight I want to share with you the IndieGogo campaign of The Brave Ones. The Brave Ones are from Los Angeles and deliver high energy music that is fused with aggressive guitars, compelling vocals and well written melodies.  They remind me of a blend of alternative rock meshed with fun Americana sprinkled with some punk attitude  From the first time I heard their song, Go Get Em Kid and Daybreak Sun, I was hooked!  The Brave Ones is Gene Louis on Vocals/Guitar, Amy Davis on Vocals, Ben Palmer on Guitar, Felipe Rodrigo on Guitar, Taylor Sullivan on Bass and Jay Pinfold on Drums. Now let’s talk about what they are working on. The [Read More]

Check out our chat with the rockin girls of Bloody Mary at NAMM 2014!

February 6, 2014

One thing that I really love about attending NAMM is finding a lot of great new bands. One of those bands we found this year was Bloody Mary from Chicago. This is an all girl teenage rock band that has a big sound filled with lots of talent. It is amazing to hear them and then find out they are young teens. They have a solid sound that will definitely impress you! They have been rockin the Chicago scene but are also garnering National attention with their high energy performances. So who is Bloody Mary? You have Ana Apollo on Lead Guitar/Vocals, Kat Cannons on Drums/Vocals, Rickee Divine on Guitar/Vocals and Hollie Wood on Bass/Vocals. Together these guys deliver true rock n roll sound reminiscent of the Runaways or todays’ Cheri Bomb.  One of the songs I really love of theirs is Where Do We Go and you can head over to their Facebook page and take a listen here. We ran into Bloody Mary at one of the most rockin booths of NAMM, the Dean Guitars booth and [Read More]

Interview with Terese Taylor by Patrick O’Heffernan of MusicFriday Live!

February 5, 2014

Interview with Terese Taylor by Patrick O’Heffernan Terese Taylor’s music describes a personal world – or maybe series of worlds – that is dark, stark and cynical.  Or perhaps, she is simply laying reality out in front of us as she sees it and letting us interpret her images through our own lens.  Or maybe both at once.  That is the genius of Terese Taylor, a song writer and musical artist who uses her lyrics to paint sharp, steel cut images of life that upon closer inspection can be  ambiguous. The same goes for her music.  Is it rock, folk, country, or punk…or something that is simply Terese Taylor, best enjoyed without analysis? Music FridayLive!  interviewed Terese Taylor on 1/31/14.  * * * * * * *  Patrick: Welcome to Music Friday Terese:  Hi Patrick.  Patrick: Terese, you sent me four songs that I understand are slated for a new album to  be released in April.  April is only about 2 months away, so you must be closing in on having  it ready.  Can you gives us a [Read More]
