Matt Hires new EP Heartache Machine is climbing the charts!

April 10, 2014

Matt Hires released a new EP earlier this week, “Heartache Machine” and it features four new songs and follows up to last year’s “THIS WORLD WON’T LAST FOREVER, BUT TONIGHT WE CAN PRETEND.”  What is very exciting about this new EP is that Matt has returned to independent level after spending 6 years with Atlantic Records.  Regarding the recent change, Hires said, “Making the leap to independence has been really freeing and invigorating for me as an artist. I love that I’m able to get songs from the studio and into people’s ears in just a little over two months. It’s definitely a little scary, but I think it’s going to be really good for me and good for my fans. With ‘Heartache Machine,’ I feel like I was able to break into a totally new level of honesty in my songwriting and I think it comes through in the recordings.” His return to the independent level reminds me of my favorite quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson: “Do not go where the path may lead, go [Read More]

The Fray is our Bottle Rock Napa 2014 Featured Band of the Day

April 10, 2014

Today our Bottle Rock Napa Featured Band is The Fray. The Fray has been one of my favorite bands for quite a while.  I think I have seen them live about four times and honestly I just can get enough of them!  I remember the first time I fell in love with them was when I heard their song Over My Head on the radio. I tried to find out who it was and no one knew. It took me a couple weeks of trying to catch it again on the radio and this time I was going to find out! I did and quickly went out to buy the album How To Save a Life and my long love affair soon began.  The Fray always has music that just spoke to me at the right times in my life. The honest and raw lyrics touch upon the many challenges in life and were sung so beautifully and in a perfect composition.  Their songs became the soundtrack of my life’s ups and downs and [Read More]

Pre-Order your Copy of Sumerian Ceremonials – Tribute to Florence and The Machine

April 9, 2014

Sumerian Records is set to release their album, Florence + The Sphinx: Sumerian Ceremonials – A Tribute to Florence + The Machine on May 13, 2014. Sumerian Records founder Ash Avildsen explains more about the tribute album by saying, “To me, Ceremonials by Florence + The Machine is one of the most timeless records to come out in years. The distinctive vocals and melodies, the orchestration and instrumentation, the production, the mood and the lyrics have made me enamored with the album. It is also one of the heaviest records in years to me… Not in the sense of metal and aggressive vocals/guitars/drums, but in how the songs make you feel. The emotional conviction that Florence Welch gives in her delivery combined with the brilliance of Isabella “Machine” Summers and the production of Paul Epworth has made for one of my favorite albums of all time. I wanted to give Sumerian Bands the platform to re-invent these songs and to hopefully bring great music to new ears all over the world who may have otherwise never experienced [Read More]

Steel Panther release new video for Gloryhole off their new album All You Can Eat

April 9, 2014

Hold on tight!! Get ready for another raunchy yet hilarious video by Steel Panther. This time it is for their song Gloryhole which is off their new album All You Can Eat.  The album was just released less than two weeks ago and everyone is talking about it. It has everything you could want in rock and metal from anthemic rock songs, arena size ballads, blazing guitars, great harmonies, power house drums, sexy bass lines and those 80s style vocals that we can’t get enough of. There are some bad ass guitar solos, smokin riffs, catchy choruses, I just can’t tell you how epic this album will be.  The songs are fun and infectious and you can’t help but love them. Definitely a party album for any night of the week.  If they had a panty meter for this album, it would be a full on soaking wet one for this new album!  We will have to watch out for the next baby boom that will be coming 9 months after this release! It is [Read More]
