Do you have the voice to sing in Joey Jordison’s new band, Scar The Martyr?

April 21, 2014

Joey Jordison is well known for his over the top speed drumming when he was in Slipknot and also his sold intense guitar in Murderdolls. Joey had announced last year his new band, Scar The Martyr and they have been getting a lot of well received attention for their music.  Well, now you may just have the opportunity to sing in Joey’s band, Scar The Martyr.  On April 10th, they made a statement about parting ways with their vocalist. Here is that post: “To address the recent Scar The Marty news out there and make sure all the facts are straight, Scar The Martyr has parted ways with Henry, not the other way around. With all that’s been going on of late we have been forced to take a very careful look at how we are moving forward and with there being some creative and personal differences it made sense to move on without Henry. We have been very focused on new Scar The Martyr material and we couldn’t be more excited with how the [Read More]

Catch Black Oxygen out on their “Beating Time” USA/Canada Tour

April 20, 2014

Last year I told you about my first experience with Black Oxygen. From the moment I heard them, I was HOOKED! Here is an excerpt from that previous post: “It is Monday night and are you ready to get hooked on an KILLER Rock Band??? Sit back, relax and breathe  in the fresh new life of Black Oxygen!  Holy Shit, these guys are amazing. They have a sound that is definitely of their own and it reminds me of a blend of Stone Temple Pilots and Puddle of Mudd. Founder David Lyle not only is an amazing singer/songwriter but also the lead guitarist. Then you have bad ass Jordan Myer on bass and solid drumming by David’s younger brother Nick Lyle. These three guys create a powerful trio that has a big sound that will have you take notice.”   Black Oxygen is set to release another album, “Beating Time” which will be out on May 6th. You can pre-order the album here. I can’t wait for the it since their last album, “The American Dream” [Read More]

Check out more tour dates for Tantric in support of new album “37 Channels”

April 20, 2014

Tantric, one of my all time favorite bands have just announced more tour dates in support of their  5th studio album titled “37 Channels“.  This album will definitely have you exploring their diverse range of music that satisfies all your needs. You may wonder about the title but as frontman Hugo Ferreira explains, “What goes on in my brain constantly; 37 things or channels if you will, all at once vying for my attention“. Well Hugo they may all be vying for your attention but what you do with those 37 channels is pure magic! In addition to the many featured guests such as Shooter Jennings and members of Hinder, 3 Doors Down, Saving Abel and Uncle Kracker there is as special guest vocalist on “My Turn” that you would not believe or at least I can’t!  Well it is none other than the hot Leif Garrett who spent years on my wall of my room during my teen years! As Hugo is quoted on Leif’s website:  “It’s an absolute honor to have such a iconic artist such as [Read More]

Pop Punk band Before You announces final shows

April 19, 2014

One of Pittsburgh, PA popular bands, Before You have announced the end of their band. Before You are a Pop Punk band that has quite a dedicated fanbase in Pittsburgh. They have a really catchy style that reminds me of a blend of All Time Low with My Chemical Romance.  I really like them but sadly they have announced through a Facebook post that the band is coming to an end. The Facebook post reads: “It is with a heavy heart that I make this announcement but after 4 years of being a band, Before You will come to an end after our May 7th show at Howler’s Coyote Cafe. This band has been a mainstay in our lives and the source of so much joy and opportunity, that it really hurts to have to call it quits. We have 3 remaining shows and we plan on playing them with the same energy and enthusiasm as we always have. Tonight, we play at Club Cafe on the South Side at 10pm. Friday, April 25th, we play [Read More]

Photos and Video from Crown The Empire’s set in Chico for the Break Down The Walls Tour

April 18, 2014

Last week, we covered the Asking Alexandria show at The Senator Theater in Chico, CA. This was the only California stop on the Break Down The Walls Tour and there was no way we were going to miss it. What was awesome is that the tour included a great group of bands. One of the opening bands was Crown The Empire and they delivered a heavy rock set worthy of our attention. The band came out and immediately captured the attention of the crowd. They are full of energy as they bounced across the stage unleashing their music and enthralled the listeners. What is awesome about Crown The Empire is that their sound is a mix of hard/heavy rock to post-hardcore, interweaving melodies to scream vocals, but never overdoing it either way. They have finely balanced their musical fusions in order to create a unique and quite infectious sound. They were definitely one of my favorites of the new night. You can check out the photos of Crown The Empire by our Rockin Ryan here: Their debut album [Read More]
