Who is ready to rock with Ragdoll from Australia for their Rewind Your Mind Tour?

May 5, 2014

Australia rockers Ragdoll are returning to the US in support of their upcoming release, Ragdoll Rewound which is a compilation of Ragdoll‘s first two releases (‘Ragdoll Rock’ and ‘Here Today’) plus four live recordings, one of which is a new composition, “Rewind Your Mind.” The album is set to release on May 23rd. The trio revisited the first EP and had it remixed and polished the way they had always wanted to hear it. Songs like “Foot to the Floor” sound leaner and meaner while “The Feeling” is even more epic! Any issues the band may have had with the original ‘Here Today’ master have been fully rectified here too; while the new master of “Tell Me” in particular is a lot more dynamic and more true to the original mix. Ragdoll is Ryan Rafferty on (lead vocals, bass), Leon Todd (guitar), and Cam Barrett (drums) and together they are creating a powerful strong rock and roll sound worthy of your attention. With an intense desire to inject new life into the music they love; Ragdoll’s mission is [Read More]

Get your fix of raw rock and roll with The Black Moods as they set out on tour this week

May 5, 2014

Just last month we featured The Black Moods out of Arizona, you can read more from that post here.  Now these 70’s inspired rockers are set to begin their Midwest and Southwest tour on May 7th at The Rathskeller in Indianapolis, IN and finish up on May 31st at the Prescott Festival in Arizona. The Black Moods is a three piece band that I can describe as having great guitar driven songs, infectious melodies, energetic vocals and an upgraded version of old school rock and roll. Imagine the great songwriting of Tom Petty meets the energy and passion of the Foo Fighters along with a side order of Collective Soul.  They are Josh Kennedy on Lead Guitar/Vocals, Ryan Prier on Bass/Vocals and Chico – Drums/Percussion. Together they have collectively brought the rock influences of the past 40 years and have created their own unique signature sound. Their tour is in support of their upcoming EP, Killers in The Night which is set for a July 15th release.  Singer and guitarist Josh Kennedy offers, “I feel like we are an emotionally driven [Read More]

Long time rockers, TESLA release new song; So Devine

May 5, 2014

One of my long time favorite rock band from Sacramento, TESLA have announced a new album set for release this summer. TESLA locked themselves away for weeks writing the new album and came up with fourteen solid tracks which will be SIMPLICITY. The album was recorded at their bassist Brian Wheat’s very own J Street Recorders. Legendary engineer Michael Wagener (Metallica, Skid Row, Motley Crue) was then tapped to put the final touches in place. The release date has been set for June 10th, via Tesla Electric Company Recording’s arrangement with Entertainment One Music and Distribution. It is so exciting to hear that new music is only a couple months away. TESLA has been one of my favorite rock bands since forming in 1981. I have probably enjoyed their shows about a couple dozens time over the years and each time, I leave with an even higher appreciation for them! TESLA is Frank Hannon, Brian Wheat, Jeff Keith, Troy Luccketta and Dave Rude.   TESLA released one of their new songs, So Devine today and it is AWESOME!!! Check it out [Read More]

A conversation with Chaz Kay of Undermine: metalizing fraggle rock by Patrick O’Heffernan

May 5, 2014

A conversation with Chaz Kay of Undermine: metalizing fraggle rock   By Patrick O’Heffernan, Host of Music FridayLive!   Metal can be an acquired music taste.  It is loud, hard driving, dark, and to some people , just noise.  But for those who take the time to listen to good metal bands and open their minds and bodies to the sound, it can be a window into a much larger universe.  One band that opens that window as few others do is Undermine, four artists who come to metal through modern fragglerock. They have mastered the art of synching powerful, sophisticated lyrics with a wall of sound – both vocal and instrumental – that leaves audiences exhausted and energized at the same time. Nominated for the Hollywood Music & Media best rock single 2013 and Los Angeles Music Award best rock song  & best rock album of 2013, Undermine has been recognized by the Rockwell Unscene magazine for being one of the top music groups of 2013 and one of the ten bands to look out for [Read More]
