Oh! The Horror from Sacramento left a great impression at the DNA Lounge

June 5, 2014

We have bringing you our coverage of last Sunday night’s concert. We have featured Cherri Bomb, Awoken Shadows, A Hero To Fall & soon will be Chapters.  But for now, we wanted to bring your attention to another theatrical metalcore band, Oh! The Horror. They are from Sacramento and blend a great electronic style into their metalcore fusing together and making a great new sound for you to enjoy. They really bring a cool dark yet mysterious vibe when they perform. It creates a haunting atmosphere fueled with some heavy metalcore to satisfy you. They even remind me of early Vampires Everywhere and that is a great sound which I miss!  Check out photos from Rockin Ryan of their set here: Make sure to visit their social media sites so you can stay up to date on when their next show is and all of their latest news. I will leave you with video for Oddities here:   ~ Marisol Information & Links: Facebook:

12 Year old Cancer Victim leaves secret words of wisdom on back of mirror

June 5, 2014

The Orchard family have been struggling to deal with the loss of their 12 year old daughter Athena who on May 28th, tragically lost her battle with bone cancer osteosarcoma.  After her passing, the family were left to deal with the heartbreaking task of going through her things. During that time is when they discovered a secret note left behind for them from Athena. Her father Dean found a long 3000 word message written in a black sharpie on the back of her mirror. In addition to the message on the mirror, he found a box of self penned songs. On the mirror, it is like a list of words of wisdom for all of us to listen to and live. It is truly touching to see that that this young girl who was struggling in a courageous battle for her life, took to sharing her innermost feelings. It is amazing and touching in so many ways.   Here is the mirror:   Some of the messages that are truly words of wisdom were: “Happiness [Read More]

A Hero To Fall is the answer to your need for some heavy new music!

June 4, 2014

We featured a local Santa Rosa band, A Hero To Fall last month as they were chosen as one of the 25 Bands competing for a record contract with KBB Records (New Label by Asking Alexandria’s Ben Bruce and Kyle Borman). We are still waiting to hear if they have been chosen as one of the 10 bands to make it on the KBB Records Digital Summer Sampler, fingers crossed!  Sunday night we headed to San Francisco to catch Cherri Bomb perform at the DNA Lounge. What a spectacular set they played, make sure to read our post about it. To our delight, one of the opening bands, was A Hero To Fall.  We had the chance to talk with the band before their set and are pleased to bring that interview to you here: They had to deal with some set up issues which is pretty typical when you perform in the upstairs Above DNA. It is really a smaller stage and sometimes takes a while for set up. But they pulled it through and [Read More]

The Deadlies delivered a fun beach party set at Bottle Rock Napa 2014!

June 4, 2014

The Deadlies were one of our Bottle Rock Napa Featured Bands and we were able to catch their set this past Saturday. One thing is for sure, they truly brought the fun to the festival. Their stage was set up like a surf party complete with beach go-go dancers. The City Winery Local Stage was one of the most happenin spots when The Deadlies took to the stage. This is a local band with a big sound! As we told you before in our preshow coverage, you may have already seen or heard them play but we were not familiar with them. The Deadlies can be described as a California surf punk/rock band with a little Honky Tonk and Country thrown in.  One thing is for sure, when you listen to The Deadlies, you can’t help but move around and have some fun! They are “paying homage to the Ventures Dick Dale and the Chantays as well as the California Honky-tonk sound of Buck Owens and Dwight Yoakam while keeping an under lying presence [Read More]
