Eric Clapton and Friends: The Breeze, An Appreciation of JJ Cale is a MUST HAVE!

August 19, 2014

Eric Clapton’s latest album, The Breeze, An Appreciation of JJ Cale is a must have for all musicians and is a true honor to his legacy. Cale’s influence on Clapton was profound, and his influence on many more of today’s artists cannot be overstated. Eric gathered a group of like-minded friends and musicians and created the musical masterpiece that features 16 beloved JJ Cale songs and is named for the 1972 single Call Me The Breeze. “I would like people to tap into what JJ Cale did – that’s the point. I’m just the messenger; I’ve always felt that that’s my job. I try to interpret things so that the public at large, or at least the people who listen to what I do, will become intrigued about where I got it from,” said Clapton.  Check out the video for Call Me The Breeze here: The track listing for the album is: 1. Call Me The Breeze (Vocals Eric Clapton) 2. Rock And Roll Records (Vocals Eric Clapton & Tom Petty) 3. Someday (Vocals Mark Knopfler) [Read More]

August 19, 2014

One of our favorite bands from this year’s Rockstar Mayhem Festival, Texas Hippie Coalition have released a new lyric video. The lyric video is for the first single, Monster In Me which is off their forthcoming album, Ride On and is set for an October 7th release. This song is so BAD ASS! I love it, dirty guitars, seductive lyrics, vocals that grab a hold of you and a beat that just gets deep in your soul.  Check out the lyric video for Monster In Me here: Their new style of music dubbed Red Dirt Metal is definitely receiving a lot of well due praise and I can’t wait to hear their new album. Ride On is due out on October 7th via Carved Records/Caroline Distribution. “It’s like Lynyrd Skynyrd and ZZ Top had a child, and Pantera ended up raising it,” exclaims Big Dad Ritch. “We’re Red Dirt Metal. That’s a flag we wave high. There wasn’t a line formed for us, so I created a line and jumped to the front of that bad [Read More]
