Check out the new video by ALESSO for Heroes (we could be) featuring Tove Lo

October 11, 2014

The Grammy nominated Swedish DJ/produer ALESSO has just released his new music video for his song, Heroes (we could be) which features Tove Lo. The video stars ALESSO and Tove Lo as themselves and directed by Emil Nava, the video follows a group of children with secret, supernatural powers who are locked up and forced to hide their true identities–until our hero arrives to set them free in emphatic fashion. Tapping into his willingness to push boundaries, ALESSO’s style resonates through his videos and his live shows; his recent video for “Tear The Roof Up” was shot entirely in monochrome and based around the concept of Alpha and Omega and a journey through heaven and hell. Check out the video here: The song is set to release on November 16th. ALESSO will be returning to the US for a headlining show at The Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles on November 22 having previously sold out the venues on his world-dominating “Uprising” tour last year. There is also a show planned for San Francisco at this year’s Spookfest. [Read More]

The WHO announce 50th Anniversary Tour for 2015!

October 11, 2014

I can still remember a vivid memory of the first time I listened to The Who. I was a young kid in the 1970’s and I could hear the wailing guitar and fierce vocals of The Who coming from my older brother’s room. I was drawn to it as I got closer and closer to get more of my fix of my craving for Rock n Roll. My older sisters were busy playing the latest disco tunes and practicing their dance moves but that was no match to the fire that The Who ignited in me. I loved the raw intensity of their music and how it’s organic sound just spoke to me, a rebellious young child who refused to be my sister’s dance partner any more. I wanted….. ROCK N ROLL and The Who were there to welcome me with open arms! The Who are turning 50 years old and their music still grabs me every time I hear it, whether it be catching My Generation, or reminiscing as I listen to songs from [Read More]

Through the Universe: Ben Jaimen takes us on an E-ticket ride. By Patrick O’Heffernan

October 10, 2014

Los Angeles. Ben Jaimen is very, very good  and his US debut EP, Through the Universe, demonstrates that in spades. A native of Germany with family in Israel and Argentina, Jaimen moves easily among those and other countries, picking up musical influences while retaining a certain humble cosmopolitan air. Music training in Israel and London, summers teaching to disabled barrio children in Cordoba, recording in Germany and LA, he has seen and given a lot. He has sung to a million people at the Brandenburg Gate in Germany, written and recorded hundreds of songs, and played gigs from Berlin to Tel Aviv. A pop rocker who writes and performs with the precision of a seasoned professional, he  knows how to hold a crowd  or  lay down  popular tracks. Most important, he is also determined  to live and sing with integrity and to be his own man. With  Through the Universe he is very much his  own man; he has produced a musical E-ticket ride and trust me, you will love every twist and bump. [Read More]

Interview with Charlee Conley of Farewell, My Love contributed by Drift N Die

October 9, 2014

Charlee Conley of Farewell, My Love Interview Glam rock isn’t dead, folks! Theatrical rock is slowly returning, and heading up the crowd is a group that if you don’t know them yet, you definitely need to! Farewell, My Love is a band I can only describe as Tim Burton’s version of a hair metal band. Stage costumes, a few well placed lights and fog machines isn’t all this band has to offer though! They bring a beautiful glam rock style back to a genre that was desperately in need of a new sound. Farewell, My Love has obvious influences from bands like My Chemical Romance, but they’ve made it all their own. These guys bring their passion to the stage; a passion shared equally throughout the band. Bassist Charlee Conley recently spoke with Drift N Die Press about the future of the band, the memories they’ve gained, and gave us insight towards his own personal influences.   DND: What’s the general concept & mission of Farewell, My Love? Charlee: From day one, we’ve always labeled [Read More]

Check out the new video by Glasvegas for Magazine

October 9, 2014

Glasvegas from Scotland have just released a new video for their song, Magazine which is off their recent album, Later …When The TV Turns To Static.  James Allan, Glasvegas song-writer, guitarist, vocalist, frontman, beloved people’s poet (and profound Glaswegian) says “the song is about the things we believe in, religion and media, idols and Gods and yet what people are looking for is inside themselves already.” Check out the video here: I love this track as not only does it highlight the amazing vocals of James but is like a breath of fresh air to the cookie cutter sounds of today’s music scene. They have truly captured my attention and I look forward to hearing more from Glasvegas. Make sure to visit their social media sites and stay up to date on their latest news. ~ Marisol Information & Links: Website: http://www.glasvegas.net/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/glasvegas Twitter: https://twitter.com/glasvegas Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/user/glasvegas
