Day 3 of 12 Days of Vocalists belongs to Gerard Way

December 17, 2014

Day 3 of our 12 Days of Vocalists belongs to Gerard Way! There is no doubt that he has has an amazing voice which blew us away during his years with My Chemical Romance. His image adorned the walls of many teens as he has an amazing way of connecting through his music.  Earlier this year, he once again reigned in the spotlight with his solo career as he toured across the country to sold out venues in support of his album, Hesitant Alien.  We caught him in San Francisco at the legendary Fillmore and it was one of the highlights of all our concerts this year. Gerard‘s stage presence is that of a dapper crooner as he took the stages in his fashionable attire and girls literally swoon over him. Gerard has brought to life the Britpop genre into his music and his infectious energy and style just might be the one to revive that genre in the music scene today. He completely grabs your attention with his performance. He has such an intense [Read More]

The Chimpz release music video for their new single, California

December 17, 2014

Hell yes, The Chimpz make me proud to be Californian with the newly released music video for their new single, California which is off their self titled EP. The EP was produced/mixed and arranged by the award winning Ryan Green (NOFX, Bad Religion, Megadeth, Usher, Jay Z).  The song really depicts not only the California lifestyle but also about following your dreams and with hard work you will succeed. The Chimpz really do a great job at bringing together rap, metal and rock together into their own unique style and the song truly highlights this achievement.  Check out the video  here:   The band explains, ” This video was so much fun and really crazy to shoot.  It was shot in 4 days in six locations including Downtown L.A.(special thanks to Styliztik Jones), in North Hollywood,  Venice Beach,  County Line Beach and a secret spot off of P.C.H., all  which included some pretty difficult shoots because of factors such as traffic, parking, wind, lighting, and tricky weather. But thanks to our director and camera crew, we were able to pull it off! Day 2 of our 12 Days of Vocalists features Kiyomi Valentine of Hunter Valentine

December 16, 2014

Today for Day 2 of our 12 Days of Vocalists we would like to feature the amazingly talented Kiyomi Valentine of Hunter Valentine. This past summer many were first introduced to her sultry passionate vocals on the Make or Break: Linda Perry Project. Hunter Valentine, already  had a very dedicated fan base before the show, as they were already familiar with the incredible talent that Kiyomi carries, but it was great to see them showcased on the show and open up an entire new fan base. I, for one was not familiar with them. Believe me, I beat myself up over not knowing them sooner. They had such a great refreshing honest sound, and from the first time Kiyomi sang, I was hooked. Kiyomi‘s vocals truly bring out her passion for music as she sings, she literally bleeds out her emotions through her songs. I love how she can switch it up from fun, flirty, aggressive, sultry, powerful, vulnerable, happy to sad. She has an excellent range that delivers rich tones and colors in her voice.  As [Read More]
