18th and Addison is our Band of the Day

February 6, 2015

Today’s Band of the Day goes to a 18th & Addison from Toms River, NJ. What began as an acoustic duo featuring Tom Kunzman who  was formerly in the band A Criminal Risk and DiBenedetto was one of MTV’s first recording artist with her band Just Kait (she is also the guitarist in the band What’s Eating Gilbert, the side project of Chad Gibert of New Found Glory) has since developed into a full live band. Together these two have come together and created their alternative rock sound cultivated from their influences of melodic rock, pop, punk and much more. Interview with alternative hard rockers In Urgency

February 5, 2015

We recently brought you the sultry music video for Stitches from Los Angeles based alternative infused hard rockers, In Urgency. It is definitely a great track. We had the chance to interview In Urgency and are pleased to bring you that interview here: Music Junkie Press: Thank you so much for taking the time out to talk with us here at Music Junkie Press. I was in college, between bands, and was really infatuated with the grandeur dream of the singer-songwriter path at the time.  I’d kind-of gotten tired of the whole “band world”.  The politics, responsibility, having to rely on everyone to pull their weight: It’d just burned me out and I wanted to make music my own for once.  It was a pretty confusing time for [Read More]

Guitar virtuouso Robben Ford announces new album

February 5, 2015

Guitar virtuouso Robben Ford is set to release his new album, Into The Sun via Mascot Label Group on March 31st. The new album will highlight Robben’s artful contemporary songwriting and his spectacular playing in an 11 song set that he describes, “one of the top recordings I’ve ever done”. This new release will incorporate his timeless vocabulary of jazz, pop, blues and rock into a modern framework for his poetic lyrics and the most graceful, emotionally nuanced and melodic vocal performances of his career. All of the music and most of the lyrics come from Robben  but he also collaborated with ZZ Ward on “Breath Of Me” and enlisted the enigmatic Kyle Swan, whose own recordings liberally mix images and styles to build articulate modernist-pop tone poems. He explains more about the album, “The album is really upbeat. It has a positive vibe to it — a good time feel. There are a lot of different rhythms and colors and the way the instruments are used is really different on this. It makes me very happy to [Read More]
