New Years Day returns to Ace of Spades for an epic set!

March 13, 2015

The Beyond the Barricade Tour featuring Motionless in White, New Years Day, For Today and Ice Nine Kills is over the halfway mark and it has proven to be one of the hottest tours of the year! We were excited to catch New Years Day as they returned to the Ace of Spades since they always are one of our favorite shows. One thing was for sure, this night went down as one of the best sets that I have ever seen of New Years Day. They sounded spot on and delivered a fierce energetic and compelling stage performance.  You were mesmerized by Ash Costello as she completely holds the crowd captive with her presence and powerful emotive vocals. She could sing a page out of the dictionary and deliver it with such passion that you would remain enslaved in her existence. We had the chance to chat with Ash before her set and will be bringing that interview to you later this weekend. She is such an extraordinary vocalist and all around entertainer. Concert Review: Devin Townsend Project, Periphery and Shining NOR at Backstage, Munich by Alexandra

March 13, 2015

Contributed by Alexandra Backstage – Werk, Munich, March 10, 2015   First up, it was an amazing, fun and entertaining evening with three awesome acts and never one minute of boredom. The venue was almost sold out, so the room was packed. The Norwegian Band Shining started the set a little earlier than announced at about 7.45 pm. As singer Jorgen Munkeby stated, they started out in 1999 as a Jazz combo and now it’s ‘Jazz-Metal’. Jorgen himself plays guitar and saxophone and boy can he play that one. He’s getting all that noises out of his instrument. It’s stunning. If you’re a fan of the experimental kind of music, you’ll sure like them. I did! Their latest album ‘One One One’ was released 2013. Make sure to check them out. Second act of the evening was ‘Periphery’. They were well known by a good part of the audience and I’m pretty sure they drew many people there that night. Being a quite popular act in the US already, considering the audiences reactions, they could [Read More]

Trophy Wives release new video for Threshold

March 13, 2015

One of our favorite Band of the Day features, Rhode Island pop punk band, Trophy Wives have just released a new video for their new single, Threshold. Vocalist/Guitarist Chris Piquette explains about the song, “Threshold is about finding happiness. You’ll never be where you want to be unless you try with everything you’ve got and that’s true in all aspects of life. Their music, as vocalist/guitarist Chris Piquette explains,  “We like to write passion-fueled music that always keeps a card or two up our sleeve“. They have a great spunk to their music that invigorates every listener. Trophy Wives are heading out on tour with Lions Lions and Everyone Dies in Utah this April.
