Interview with Denny Tedesco, Director of “The Wrecking Crews” documentary on the session musicians who brought the world rock and roll.   Patrick O’Heffernan (Los Angeles) The film The Wrecking Crew, is the story of guitarist Tommy Tedesco and the session musicians who played on hundreds, if not thousands of the hit records of the 60’s and 70’s.  Eighteen years in the making, The Wrecking Crew features interviews with the group members, stars like Cher and Nancy Sinatra and Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys, plus the music of the times.   Few fans realized that the people playing on the 45’s they bought were often not the bands shown on the cover, but a fluid group of session musicians, some of whom did not originally like rock and roll  but made a good living playing it in the studio. When Tedesco was diagnosed with cancer in 1996, his son Denny, a TV producer,  started taping interviews to record that era and the people who made it happen. Concert Review: Glamour Of The Kill with Neoblind at Backstage Club in Munich contributed by Alexandra

March 20, 2015

Munich, Backstage Club, March 16, 2015 Contributed by Alexandra The venue, that Glamour Of The Kill played in, is a really small club, but cozy and just right for a fun night and that’s what it was. The opening band was Neoblind, a local band from Augsburg. They are currently partaking in a band-competition, where they just reached the semi-finale. Glamour Of The Kill started their set with the song ‘Out Of Conrol’ from their recent EP ‘After hours’. The original track was recorded with Jacoby Shaddix, who’s known to everyone as the frontman of Papa Roach. The set consisted of songs from the last two CD’s ‘Summoning’ and ‘Savages’ and they played, besides ‘Out Of Control’ also all the other songs of their current EP and an amazing cover of ‘Love Gun’ by Kiss. It was an energetic, fun set. The size of the venue was perfect for them. It wasn’t sold out, put packed none the less. There’s so much more feel and intimacy to club shows than at a big show. It was like seeing the return of an old friend and picking up exactly where you left off. The energy was infectious and the crowd sang along to their favorite tracks. I was happy to see them perform songs from their latest album, Undefeated. John’s emotive vocals draw you in and he brings the spotlight to his passion for his music. What an amazing night of fantastic music! The [Read More]
