Check out Astronauts for a dose of feel good, lift you up music!

March 20, 2015

This past week has been a hard one and I home recovering from my surgery with my makeshift desk and recliner to obtain some sort of comfort. But then again, if I treat myself to music, I always feel better and today my feel good tunes are courtesy of Astronauts out of Calgary. Their style is unique as they bring together rock, ska, reggae, funk and much more. The end product being infectiously adddictive songs that deliver a dose of mood elevator! Perfect to lift me out of my pains. Check out one of my favorite tracks from them, Breakthrough: The vocals capture you with an alternative edge and are inviting yet mysterious. Really great track. Another great track is their new song, Soul Seeker: Hopefully next week, I will be able to get back into the swing of things and bring you an interview with them soon. Concert Review: SnoCore Tour hits Sacramento with Flyleaf, Adelita’s Way, Framing Hanley and Fit For Rivals

March 17, 2015

Last week we were so excited to head out to the Ace of Spades and catch one of the final days of the Sno Core Tour. The tour began in February and traveled through major snow and wild weather. It was great for them finish off in California with some good weather. The tour featured Fit For Rivals, Framing Hanley, Adelita’s Way and Flyleaf. The opening band Sages was a welcome surprise. Sages had many familiar faces as it features members of Track Fighter, Maid of the Mist and LP Sessions. I am really looking forward to catching them again in the future. Fit For Rivals started off the night and you were instantly jump started with their energy. I have been waiting to see this band perform live and as soon as I saw them, they blew me away and made it well worth the wait! They were incredible and the crowd loved them. Of course they rocked the venue with their hit single, Hit Me. Next up was Framing Hanley which I have [Read More]

Interview with Hall of the Elders contributed by Meryl DeWitt

March 17, 2015

Coming from Atlanta’s local scene, we bring you a new band for your ears, Hall of the Elders! Describing themselves as a mix of heavy metal and rock n roll, they bring a new and interesting sound to the scene! Drift N Die Press recently interviewed the band’s lead singer, Mark Jackson, about the band’s influences, history, and future!   Drift N Die: What’s the general concept & mission of your band? Mark Jackson: When all bands start out, I feel like the goal is just to play awesome music for lots of fans and grow from there.  That was our plan when we started because we were uncertain of what we wanted to do. Nowadays, we have a clearer objective of reaching out to a fan base that is often overlooked.  You have heavy bands, and you have rock-oriented bands.  It’s really “black & white”, so we are trying to target the gray area and incorporate a mix of heavy music and colorful rock styles.  Some bands out there already do this, but there [Read More]
