Concert Review of Combichrist, Lacrimas Profundere, Vlad In Tears and Controlled Collapse in Munich by Alex Bock

July 26, 2015

Backstage Werk, Munich, July 25th, 2015   It was Free & Easy day 4 when an interesting line-up stopped at the Backstage Werk.   Controlled Collapse started that evening. They are a 4 piece from Poland. They started out in 2003 and play an industrial/electro sound. I heard them for the first time, even though they aren’t new to the scene and it was fun. Heard some people talking about the set afterwards and they were really impressed by their performance. Controlled Collapse That set was followed by two Germany based bands. First Vlad In Tears and then Lacrimas Profundere. Both bands playing an awesome show and both bands well known to the audience. Vlad In Tears Lacrimas Profundere Combichrist were the headliner that evening. I saw them twice now and every time it was a party. I love their live shows. It’s a heavy, energetic show. I felt a little for the drum tech that evening, because Joey, the drummer, constantly threw stuff around. Either it was drum sticks, with which he even hit [Read More]

They have just released a new track from the album, Ghost In The Mirror which features Caleb Shomo of Beartooth. Frontman Kenta ‘Ken’ Koie explains the song, “This song is about the fight against myself. Everyone has some bad habits, and self-control can be very difficult for humans. And we invited our new best friend, Caleb Shomo of Beartooth, to contribute a guest vocal on the track. His voice made this song more aggressive and offensive. I can’t wait to play this song with him at our show.” Check out the song here: The song definitely is a fierce one and Caleb adds a great heavy edge to it.
