60. NAMM’s 2016 Innovative Awards are featured on our Countdown to NAMM 2016

    For 60, we wanted to bring your attention to the 2016 recipients of the NAMM Foundation President’s Innovation Awards! The NAMM Foundation has awarded a President’s Innovation Award to 59 college music students from across the country. The award provides a stipend to exemplary college music education, music business and arts marketing students who are exploring careers in the music-products industry.  These individuals, selected by application for their commitment and aptitude for leadership and interest in the music products industry, will have access to the NAMM Show and the NAMM Foundation’s Generation Next program.  Supporting this opportunity for these individuals is an investment in the industry’s future. “This award is provided to students who will likely impact the music products industry in the years ahead.” said Mary Luehrsen, executive director of The NAMM Foundation. “The NAMM Foundation is honored to support their career development and welcome their contributions – now and in the future.” Awardees received a $600 stipend to attend The NAMM Show, with access to more than 1,800 exhibits at the [Read More]

For Number 61, we take you back to the annual Dean NAMM Jam from 2013 which was held on Friday, January 25th at The Grove in Anaheim. It was quite an awesome night with Shinedown headlining the show. Wayland came out and rocked the show. Post hardcore Metal band Within Reach have released a video for their song This War. Directed/produced by Phillip Reardon (formerly of From First To Last) the music video paints the picture of the song’s story on a visual canvas.  It tells the tale of someone who tries their absolute best only to be either turned down or made to feel like “my best is your worst,” ending with the realization they need to drop the people that constantly put you down for not living to their expectations. Catch Punk rockers Everything Ever as they set out on tour in December

Everything Ever may have suffered a setback in August after getting robbed of all of their stuff while preparing for a show, but that didn’t bring them down. They are gearing up to set out on a tour in December. The east coast run starts on 12/03 in Oakville, CT. Joining them on select dates will be Bad Timing Records‘ Romp and the melodic New Jersey punk act The Blithedale Romance. Vocalist/bassist John Trotta comments, “After getting crushed by the robbery this Summer, it’s going to feel great to get back on the road and play some basement shows with bands I love. ROMP and Blithedale are both sick, and I know they’re going to make this our best tour yet.
