Progressive metal band Bibeau are set to make their mark with their new video/single!

April 27, 2016

Progressive metal band Bibeau are ready to make their mark in the metal and rock scene with the release of their new song/video for Mark This. The single was produced by Luke Garrigus at Blackroom Studios outside of Austin, Texas. The song truly grabs your attention with it’s high energy metal, powerful vocals and progressive flair. You can hear their influences but yet they are fresh, new and exciting. You are instantly drawn in as the music engulfs your being and awakens your senses. The band comments about the song,  “Mark This” is the most accessible song we have written since this line up came together late last year. The song highlights Drew’s voice quite well. Our new material is progressive, but we sound quite a bit different than progressive bands these days. We were all influenced by the great power band’s of the 70’s, Zeppelin, Rush, Rainbow, Iron Maiden and Judas Priest, Yes, etc., and we can’t help but draw influence from Opeth, TesseracT, Tool and Mastadon and other bands today. We strive to create our own sound [Read More]

Amanda Markley brings a depth of emotion to life with her new song, Cold (revisited)

April 27, 2016

Amanda Markley, the Seattle pop starlet has just released a beautiful touching song that brings out a depth of emotion. Her new song, Cold (revisited) is off her upcoming self-titled EP which is set for a May 6th release.  Amanda comments about the song, “When you go through heartbreak, there are lots of questions you have that get left unanswered, and this song really calls out to that. I wanted to revisit “Cold” because I connect so closely to the lyrics. Having gone through a tough breakup myself a few months back, I really know what it’s like to feel the emotions of this song. I wanted to record a version of “Cold” that would capture the raw emotion I was feeling and portray that to the listener.” Check out the song here:   You can pre-order the new EP here: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/amanda-markley-ep/id1101533117. Jessica Rotter debuts Plains with a sky high party and a “Purple Rain” tribute.

April 26, 2016

(Hollywood) Jessica Rotter launched her first album Friday night with a sky high party and a “Purple Rain” tribute to the late  artist, formerly known as Prince.  The party, produced by BalconyTV’s Cindi Avnet atop the W Hollywood Hotel, was packed with friends, family and fans, all well warmed up in advance by the lively LA-based countryish-rock band, Bjorn and the Sun. Flanked by her uniquely curated ensemble of musicians — a mandolinist, a percussionist/rapper, three backup singers, a bass/slide guitarist, drummer, violinist and cellist —  the TV actress/singer took the stage and without introduction opened with “Flying Off” from the new album Plains.  It took the noisily happy crowd a minute to quiet down, but once they did, Rotter’s magnificent voice and warm stage manner made the connection and they were hooked.  It wasn’t long before they were singing along. She gave us 11 songs, most from the album but she threw in a couple of surprises and mashups – “because everybody loves mashups” she told us.  Songs ranged from the bass-led pop [Read More]

Smash Fashion
Band of the Day

Our Spotlight Band is Smash Fashion as they deliver straight up ROCK N’ ROLL!

April 26, 2016

Today our featured band is Smash Fashion. This is one band that as soon as you take a first listen, you will be hooked. In a time where many bands are chasing the  new sound or trying to conform to certain critiera, you come across Smash Fashion and it is pure unadulterated, addictive, rock n’ roll. They bring out this nostalgic rawness of 50’s rock and fused with a 60’s mod vibe, but in no way sounds dated. They are fresh, new and exciting. Their album, Big Cat Love has been quite an addiction for all of us here at Music Junkie Press. I don’t think a day goes by that we aren’t cranking up some of our faves like Marionette, Junkie Luck, or singing along to Stay Off My La La. The full bodied album is one you will listen to from start to finish. You will be captivated by the edgy yet inviting vocals, swirling guitar riffs, and toe tapping rhythms. Definitely a must have! Also make sure to pick up their 45 vinyl [Read More]
