April 25, 2016

Today I’d like to introduce an up and coming band from France to you. They’re called Back Garden Light. Matthieu Kirby, their rhythm guitarist, sat down to answer some questions that give you some insights on the band. Band members / instruments Max Desgarnier : Vocals Louis Seguin : Lead Guitar Tom Saulnier : Bass Lilian Camelio : Drums Matthieu Kirby : Rythm Guitar Where do you come from? We come from Bordeaux, France Is there a story behind the band name ? Well, we wanted something that sounds good with a bad English accent for the French people. At first we wanted to name the band Anchorless Heroes, but with a bad English (French) accent, it sounded like you were saying “oh fuck cirrhosis again !!!So we came up with Back Garden Light because we liked the idea of this small light in the night in a backyard. Somehow we feel Nostalgia thinking about this. How did you form? Louis wanted to form a band and we all knew each other so everything went [Read More]

James Bay delivers a grand performance to a sold out Oakland crowd at the Fox Theater

April 25, 2016

We were very excited to catch the most recent performance of James Bay at the Fox Theater in Oakland, CA. The fans began lining up early afternoon as it was a sold out show, and it would be a packed house. The night kicked off with an impressive performance by Joseph. Joseph features three sisters from the Pacific Northwest, who delighted the crowd with their powerful vocals and melodic harmonies. The trio captivated the crowd and earned high praises from the audience. The crowd grew in anxiety as they awaited the arrival of James Bay. It was wonderful to see the diversity in the crowd. It was a mix of culture, age, gender and social backgrounds that came together to enjoy the music of James Bay. People came from all over for this show. We even met a young woman who flew all the way out from Indiana for the show. Marisol Baumann (yes, I was just as shocked that she was also named Marisol) said she had just flown in hours earlier in [Read More]

Quite some achievements in a really short time span. Beartooth’s sound is a mix of Metalcore, Old-School-Punk, Vintage-Sreamo and the heavy side of Pop Punk, all spiced with a strong pinch of flamboyance. Was Disgusting the sound of a loner on his way up, Aggressive is the battlecry, never to get pushed back into the dark. Beartooth’s second record for Red Bull Records is unloading itself in relentless anger and iron will. It’s the inevitable [Read More]

Check out video from Backwordz for Statism featuring Craig Mabbitt of Escape the Fate

April 25, 2016

Backwordz is a hip hop metal band based out Texas and they  have just released a new music video for their song Statism which features a guest performance by Craig Mabbitt of Escape the Fate. The video was directed by Albert Gonzalez and is the second single off the band’s debut album, Veracity which is set for a summer release. Check out the video here: Eric comments about the song, We spent the first year getting a name for ourselves and doing a ton of background work for this band. Now that all of that is out the way, we aren’t playing around. We gave our audience a jab with ‘Utopias Don’t Exist’ and now we are throwing straight haymakers. As far as lyrical content, Statism IS BackWordz and it sets the tone for what exactly this band stands for. Alex and I are hardcore libertarians and we want to spread the message of liberty within our music, as well as speak on the dangers of The State. It seems that so many people our age [Read More]

You can’t help but feel the adrenaline dripping from this track! We can’t wait for the new EP. Katie comments about the EP, “This EP is very special to us. Alex and I wrote these songs from the heart; about past experiences and struggles. That said, we were very attached to them and didn’t want to see them change. Johhny, being the multi talented producer that he is, helped us take the songs we thought couldn’t get any better, to a whole new level. It’s amazing how a simple change in melody can make me feel even more emotional about a song than I had felt previously.” You can catch Romantic Rebel [Read More]
