Roddie Romero and Eric Adcok, the heart of the “notorious Louisiana roots rocker” band, the Hub City All Stars

September 11, 2016

Roddie Romero and the Hub City All Stars are one of the pre-eminent roots bands in Louisiana.  Their music is authentic, energetic and yet it evolves and grows – it is not stuck in time.  The band earned a Grammy nomination for their 2007 album “The La Louisianne Sessions“ and I suspect they will earn another nomination  – and very possibly an Award – with their new album, Gulfstream which is 13 heavenly songs sheparded by the renowned British producer John Porter.  I was lucky enough to catch up with Roddie and the band’s pianist, keyboardist and songwriter Eric Adcock, before their concert tonight at the Crowley Opera House where they were playing with Roddie’s idol,  the legendary slide guitar player Sonny Landreth.   Patrick. I have your new album, Gulfstream, produced by British producer John Porter, and it is a killer.  But I am curious – how did the “notorious Louisiana roots rockers” end up with one of the top British producers?   Roddie.  We were introduced by Eric’s brother, Charles Adcock,  in [Read More]

September 11, 2016

Dierks Bentley has been delivering crowd praising shows to arenas/stadiums across the country, out on his 2016 Somewhere On a Beach Tour. This past Friday, it was Concord’s turn to enjoy the show and it was quite a memorable one for the fans. As our colleague Sean Liming comments, What a Show! Dierks was so in to the fans and even ran around the venue. He sang a couple of songs from behind the sound board and had selected fans on stage with him for the last song (drunk on a plane).   The energy that Dierks brings to the stage is infectious and he definitely turned up the adrenaline for the Concord venue.
