PHOTO GALLERY: King Shelter in San Francisco at Rickshaw Stop

October 4, 2016

King Shelter is from Orange County, California and has been described as a “Salad-Rock” band as they deliver  “a healthy mixture of rock, consisting of surf, grunge, alternative and anything in between. With the obvious layers of intertwining genres (or ingredients, like a salad) creating a unique sound, they also bring their complex lyrics and ideas to remind listeners to think for themselves and that no one person is better than another-in other words, it’s music made for the people, by the people.”  They have just released their new song, Everything Hurts which Taylor Hecocks comments, “‘Everything Hurts’ is my grandfather’s story. Life is hard. The American dream isn’t really a dream; it’s a vortex of preoccupations. But after all is said and done, the corner store is still gonna be selling those sweet cowboy killers n vodka. For the Krispis giveth and the Krispis taketh away.”  Check out the track here:   They recently made a stop in San Francisco and performed at The Rickshaw Stop. Our colleauge Quang Lam was in attendance and you [Read More]

Concert Review: Vlad In Tears, Nox Interna, The Pussybats in Munich. By Alex Bock

October 3, 2016

Munich, Backstage, Sept. 23rd, 2016 On August 12th ‘Vlad In Tears’ 5th studio record ‘Unbroken’ was released. Four months prior to that the ‘Unbroken’ headliner tour was announced. So almost half a year later the bands’ fans gathered at the Club, one of the smaller venues at the Backstage in Munich. With them they brought along The Pussybats and Nox Interna. All three bands are Germany based, but not all of them started out here. The Pussybats are from Stuttgart. According to their facebook page their sounds is described as Dark Glam Rock, which probably sums up their style best. They have some very catchy songs and they did well in transferring the fun they had onstage to the audience. Check out their latest music video for the song ‘Sidney Fears’ Nox Interna was formed in Spain by Richy Nox, the only remaining member of the original line-up. With their 2nd record the band started to write most of the songs in English. Richy moved to Berlin where he re-formed the band with new [Read More]

Militia Vox Isosceles EP: Grab your headphones.

October 1, 2016

Militia Vox is one of those rare artists who comes along every decade or so and breaks molds and opens new creative doors, which is exactly what her new EP Isosceles does. Vox packs more music, more meaning, more power into the  three songs on Isosceles than many musicians do in a lifetime of albums.   Formally trained in classical piano and voice, Vox embraced heavy metal, founded one of the most successful metal cover bands of our time, The Judith Priestess.  She also served as the central figure in bands like Disciples of Astaroth and Swear on Your Life.  She has performed with Twisted Sister, Living Colour, Nancy Sinatra and Cyndi Lauper – a musical range few can even imagine.  And all of that comes together in exploration of birth, life and death on her own terms that Vox takes you through in Isosceles, the second release of her trilogy story, Villainess. The songs on Isosceles have been “festering in my mind for years” Vox says, explaining the deep attention to details and [Read More]
