We have been anticipating the return of Finnish rockers Santa Cruz to San Francisco. We were excited to see them on the lineup for Fozzy’s Judas Rising Tour which made a stop at Slim’s this past Tuesday. The band delivered a straight up rock n roll set that included a couple of their new songs off their latest album, Bad Blood Rising. The album was released last November and has been garnering attention for it’s turbo charged rock! Patrick O’Heffernan (Hollywood) Pure, unconditional love. That is the only way to describe the sold-out crowd at the last concert of ZZ Ward’s Storm Tour in the Fonda Theater Thursday night. Many of those fans had traveled hundreds of miles to see her and they let her know how much they loved her. And Ward returned the love many times over. Striding on stage after a killer set by Black Pistol Fire, rocking her signature Fedora, studded black leather low rider pants and a skin colored sleeveless top, Ward launched into “Let It Burn” with an intensity that got the audience screaming in the first verse. When she pulled out her harmonica the screaming went nonstop. Moving from “Let it Burn” to “Ghost” and then onto “Put the Gun Down” with her acoustic guitar, the blues rock goddess’s country-curl rock voice vibrated all the way to the back row of the packed balcony. The Word Alive – Munich – Technikum – January 30th, 2018 Not a headliner show this time. The Word Alive were opening for Falling In Reverse. But no matter what, the band always gives it their all. Clearly their fanbase is growing in Germany, because parts of the audience seem to have been there only to watch them play. Currently they are working on a new record, which will be released this year and with a bit of luck, Germany will see the band live again this year. Architects, While She Sleeps, Counterparts – Munich – Tonhalle – January 29th, 2018 Architects played another sold-out show in Munich. Actually, most of their tours lately are almost sold out in Europe as well as in the US. This tour the band brought UK based band While She Sleeps and Counterparts from Canada along. While She Sleeps: Counterparts: Both opening bands won the crowd over pretty fast. A good warm-up for an awesome headliner. Architects made an impact from the first to the last song. Sound, lighting and pyros were on spot. They are still heavily influenced by the loss of their guitarist and main song writer Tom Searle in 2016. Trivium release new video/song ‚Beyond Oblivion’ – European tour starts soon!

Trivium released a new video/song ‘Beyond Oblivion’ today. It is taken from their latest album ‘The Sin And The Sentence’. Check it out here: The band will be out on tour through Europe and the UK from this Saturday on. They will start out at the Patronaat in Haarlem, Netherlands on March 10th and end at Brixton Academy in London on April 21st. Robert Plant & The Sensational Space Shifters deliver epic performance at Fox Theater in Oakland

It was one show that we had waited months for, and it was finally approaching. Robert Plant and The Sensational Space Shifters performing at the Fox Theater in Oakland. It was one of the shows that kept us going with anticipation and excitement as we tried to recover from the devastating loss of our home and business in the Santa Rosa firestorms in October 2017. It gave us the strength and hope to move forward, for us to see Robert Plant perform in the theater style setting of the Fox Theater. Well, it not only lived up to all of our expectations, it exceeded them. After the fire, the way I listened to music drastically changed. I could barely stand to hear the word “fire” or “smoke” in a song and when I did, I would instantly succumb to the horrors of our experience and relive it detail by detail.
