February 10, 2019

Today is a big day and no, I am not talking about my birthday! Tonight is the 61st Recording Academy Grammy Awards. Today during the pre-telecast, our favorite band has taken a big win. Greta Van Fleet has won Best Rock Album  for From the Fires. This is a huge win for them and we congratulate them on all their hard work.  They were up against some great talent, Alice in Chains, Rainier Fog; Fall Out Boy, M A N I A; Ghost, Prequelle; and Weezer, Pacific Daydream.  From the Fires was the double EP from Greta and was released November 10, 2017. That album is such a special and personal one for all of us at Music Junkie Press. It is the music that got us through one of our darkest times; losing our home and business in the Santa Rosa Tubbs Fire.  For that, we thank them for getting us through to the light. VIDEO: Indie Pop Band Mike Mains & The Branches release captivating new video

February 6, 2019

Indie pop band Mike Mains & The Branches have just released a captivating new video for their melodic engaging track, Breathing Underwater. The song is off their upcoming fifth album, When We Were In Love, set for an April 5th release via Tooth & Nail Records. BINX at NAMM. Learning to DJ on the Hercules Controller. By Patrick O’Heffernan

February 5, 2019

Patrick O’Heffernan (Anaheim, CA) I have never DJ’ed nor used electronic musical instruments.  I play the Cajon – about as nonelectronic as you can get.  But, while I was at NAMM last week I  decided to take  advantage of the opportunity for a 15 min lesson at the Hercules booth on their DJ equipment.  I got to try out their new Inpulse 300 Controller, and look at the DJ starter kit.
