Ocean Grove return with new single “Cali Sun”

November 9, 2021

Following its first play on triple j Good Nights, Ocean Grove’s electric summer single “CALI SUN” is officially out now. This positive, passionate and uplifting earworm also comes alongside a trippy new music video. Thematically, “CALI SUN” exemplifies the Ocean Grove ethos to critically question the norm and champion the anti-norm. It features both inspired sonics and an equally inspired message to match. “Paradisiacal and enticing, ‘CALI SUN’ represents the ultimate marketplace for the senses whether they lust for fame, money or success. Not your stereotypical heartbreak story, ‘CALI SUN’ is a nod to the land and opulence of California herself” says Ocean Grove. “As the song reveals, human dependence on anything feel-good in excess never ultimately rewards or fulfils the user, rather leaving them on a perpetual chase that can only be checked through a journey of self-realisation. Left to its own devices, we consider this dependence the work of the enemy mind, an insidious yet inherent part of us all. Without maintaining PMA, our vulnerability to chasing a high will always tempt and [Read More]

Senses Fail announce new album and release new single “I’m Sorry I’m Leaving”

November 6, 2021

Senses Fail have just announced their highly anticipated eighth album “Hell Is In Your Head”. The album is set for release 15th July 2022 via Pure Noise Records. Co-produced by Saosin’s Beau Burchell, ‘Hell Is In Your Head’ marks the band’s first studio album since 2018’s “If There Is Light, It Will Find You”. The announcement is accompanied by the release of their brand new single “I’m Sorry I’m Leaving” which sees vocalist Buddy Nielsen confronting his anxieties around being a career musician and the constant struggle to create a good work/life balance and being a father. With the wider album’s themes, Nielsen explores the more philosophical and abstract nature of death, mortality and pulls inspiration form works such as TS Eliot’s “The Waste Land” and placing the album in the same world. These key elements helped form his vision for Senses Fail. “The band has now become me and vice-versa”. He explains: “I’m trying to put myself on the map as a songwriter and as a complete musician, not just as a lyricist or [Read More]

Simple Plan release new single “The Antidote”

November 6, 2021

The wait is over for “The Antidote”, the brand new single from multi-platinum selling rock band Simple Plan. A poignant and moving track, “The Antidote” marks the band’s first new music in two years. “We’re so excited to finally release ‘The Antidote,’ the first single off our upcoming sixth album! The song is a throwback to our classic Simple Plan sound, but with a modern twist. It has all the elements our fans have come to love and expect from our band: a big, energetic chorus and honest and heartfelt lyrics that deal with life and the struggles we all face. It feels like the perfect starting point and a great preview of what’s to come on the album,” the band shares. They continue: “We wrote and recorded the song before the pandemic hit and in lots of ways, it has become even more relevant after everything that happened over the last 20 months. A lot of people are going through some tough times right now and the song talks about the importance of having [Read More]

Stand Atlantic release new single & video for “Molotov”

November 6, 2021

Stand Atlantic released their new single “Molotov” on November 5, 2021 through Hopeless Records. Following the success of their latest single “deathwish (feat. nothing, nowhere)”, Stand Atlantic is finishing 2021 with one of their most aggressive, punk/hardcore-leaning songs yet. One of the heaviest releases from Stand Atlantic yet, “Molotov” is an expression of rage and frustration at the religious/societal structures of homophobia that lead singer Bonnie Fraser encountered (and still continues to face) growing up in a religious environment. Fraser is using this release as a way to fight back against the harmful rhetoric that she faced and more importantly, as a way to signal to those who have been through similar situations that they are not alone. Fraser shares on this release: “I went to a christian school for 3 years of my life and when a pastor says ‘all gays will burn in hell’ during an assembly, you’re gonna remember it, and you’re gonna write a song about it. It baffles me how someone can believe something so negative about someone yet act [Read More]
