GRETA VAN FLEET delivers stellar performance in Sacramento on final Dreams In Gold tour

March 30, 2023

One thing is certain Greta Van Fleet holds a special place for us.  Their music back in 2017 was not only the soundtrack to our tumultuous ups and downs but it was what provided healing for us as we lost our home and business during the Santa Rosa 2017 Wildfires.  We have enjoyed the journey and growth through their music in the past several years and with the new songs, they have continued to grow in every way. We recently caught Greta Van Fleet in Sacramento at the Golden1 Center for their final performance on the Dreams in Gold (DIG) tour.  It was an epic show that not only was the perfect way to close out the DIG era, but ushered us in to the next phase of their musical journey. The show kicked off with a killer set by one of our faves, two-time Grammy nominated band,  The Rival Sons.  The crowd rocked out to their energetic set and they treated them to a performance of their new song, Rapture which is off [Read More]

Beartooth play their biggest German headliner show in Munich

March 28, 2023

March 24th – A long-awaited tour finally happened – Beartooth came back to Munich and they brought two amazing bands along – Motionless In White and Stray From The Path. This tour was announced exactly two years ago. It should have happened in 2022, but was postponed to 2023. So it’s been a long time coming, but absolutely worth the wait. Earlier that day I got an email from Ticketmaster, that the show start was pushed back to 7.30 pm. Consider me surprised, when Stray From The Path went on stage at 7 pm sharp. Lately, it’s happening a lot, that show times are wrongly communicated. Always bad for the first band, but since it was a Friday night and all three bands already do have an established status among their fans, the venue was crowded, when Stray started their set with “Needful Things” from their latest record “Euthanasia”, which was released in 2022. They played a highly energetic set, with singer Drew Dijorio almost constantly on the move and jumping. People couldn’t help but [Read More]

Avatar back in Munich on the Dance Devil Dance tour

March 28, 2023

March 22nd Swedish Melodic Deathcore band Avatar finally made it back to Bavaria’s capitol city Munich. Like many shows this year, this was also a postponed tour. There was a venue change from the originally picked Freiheitshalle to the new Theaterfabrik in Munich. The venue itself is around the scene for ages now, but it moved in town several times. It’s now located in Johanneskirchen in a neighborhood that probably isn’t all too happy about having a live music venue close by. The inside looks pretty with chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. The layout of the venue tough is kinda weird, because the stage is opposite the doors on the long wall and it’s pretty small. So when you stand to the far left or right of the stage you can’t make out that much of what’s going on on stage. There’s also a balcony in the back, which gives a good view of the stage. From my perspective it was pretty hard for the bands to get the audience in high spirits, at least [Read More]

The news many have been waiting for – Australian Metalcore band The Amity Affliction announced the release of their upcoming record “Not Without My Ghosts”, which will be out May 12th via Pure Noise Records. The announcement comes with another new single “It’s Hell Down Here”. Check out the video! “This song is a a letter from myself and Ahren, written by me, to our friends who have passed on to the other side.” “I’m 41. I’m bipolar. And I’m pretty tired of it. That’s where lyrics like ‘Like a snake I tire / the cold dark clouds, they steal my light’ come from. The song is wrapping up how I feel daily, and reflecting on the time leading up to my friend killing himself. I’m sure a lot of people who have experienced that guilt at not seeing what becomes glaringly obvious after the fact.” Singer Joel Birch on the new song The new record can be pre-ordered HERE. Crown The Empire share new single “Black Sheep”

March 23, 2023

Post-metalcore quartet, Crown The Empire share the next single from their forthcoming fifth studio album DOGMA out April 28th via RiseRecords. “Black Sheep,” joins previously released “DOGMA,” “Immortalize,” “In Another Life” featuring Spiritbox’s Courtney LaPlante, and “Dancing With The Dead.” “We’ve tackled many lofty ideas with the singles we’ve released thus far but with ‘Black Sheep’ we wanted to bring it back down to earth to our early days as a band. When we were playing together in a garage and making songs with a “fuck you” attitude, just for the sake of doing it,” shares vocalist Andy Leo. “We kept that spirit alive with ‘Black Sheep’ and aim to provide a solid 3:52 seconds of in-your-face energy that young crown would’ve loved. We hope you love it too.” DOGMA, produced and mixed by ZachJones (Fever 333, Poorstacy, Scene Queen, Nova Twins), is a diverse album fueled by angst, existential identity, isolation, and determination. Over the last three years, the band took time to reflect on personal and collective priorities. This introspection is reflected lyrically [Read More]

Devin Townsend – Lightwork tour stops in Munich

March 16, 2023

Last time Devin Townsend made a stop in Munich during a tour has been with a very special evening of acoustic songs and q&a’s. This time he brought his latest record “Lightwork” to European stages. I had the pleasure of shooting the show at the Backstage for you and let me tell you, it was a hell of a show. He played a 90 minutes set with 13 songs from six records. He played four songs from “Lightwork”, starting the show with the bombastic song “Lightworker“. Setlist Lightworker Kingdom Dimensions Why? The Fluke Deadhead Deep Peace Heartbreaker Spirits Will Colide Truth Bad Devil Call Of The Void (Encore) Love? (Encore) Supporting acts were Fixation from Norway and Klone. Fixation played an energetic opening set. Unfortunately, the timing of the whole show was a little out of the plan. Actually, it was supposed to start at 8 pm. But by that time, Fixation had already ended their set. Too bad for the people who missed their set. Check out their latest single “More Alive“. The energy [Read More]
