Temples returns to San Francisco for a stop at Great American Music Hall

June 23, 2023

Thursday night at Great American Music Hall in San Francisco had a fantastic lineup featuring Temples on their headlining tour in support of their new album, Exotico. The night kicked off with Post Animal with a spectacular psychedelic progressive rock set. You can check out our photo gallery here. Temples was up next and I glanced around the audience and it was warming to see such a diverse crowd, all there for the pure love of music.  Temples delivered an eclectic and electrifying set. The confidence and precision playing of their psych-rock created a flow through their songs that held the crowd captive. Each song ended with an eruption of applause as if they were receiving a much needed dose of mental healing. The 60’s/70’s inspired vibe was infectious as you felt yourself drifting away  to immerse yourself in a nostalgic realm.  It was rewarding to look around the venue and see only a handful of phones in the air. You could tell the crowd wanted to fully drink in the magical elixer of  a [Read More]

Post Animal bring psych-prog rock to Great American Music Hall

June 23, 2023

Last night opening for Temples at Great American Music Hall was the psychedelic progressive rockers Post Animal.  They got the crowd energized as soon as they hit the stage and continued with a non stop energetic set. Their set list brought about everything from indie-alternative, progressive rock, heavy rock, psych-groove and so much more. It was engaging and spellbinding. Check out photos from their set by our Rockin Ryan: You can check out a video from their set here: In addition, we picked up some cool merch which included their cassette and a cool shirt. I can’t say it enough, when you head out to enjoy live music and love the set, pick up some merch from the them.  It is the best way to support a band and you will end up with a closet full of great memories of concerts past. Indie rocker Daniel Ellsworth releases new single, Blurry

June 23, 2023

Indie rock artist, Daniel Ellsworth released a new song, Blurry. The track is on his new EP WHAT to be released on July 14. Daniel comments about the song, “This is a song about being so completely enamored with someone that everytime you see them the room starts to spin, you start seeing colors, and everything around you starts to blur. I wrote and recorded “Blurry” when I was listening to a ton of Anderson .Paak. The way he incorporates R&B, pop, hip-hop, gospel, jazz, and soul into everything he creates is wildly inspiring. Coming from years in the indie rock world, I wanted to try to push myself to do something in that arena. I do a lot more in this world now in my project DARKMINDS that I have with Christopher “C4″ Umana, but at the time that I wrote and recorded this it was new for me.” Check out the track here: WHAT is Ellsworth’s first fully self-produced, self-mixed solo release. It’s infused with a genre bending, underground indie atmosphere and draws on influences as wide ranging [Read More]

L.S. Dunes release new song and video for Benadryl Subreddit

June 23, 2023

L.S. Dunes vocalist Anthony Green, guitarist Frank Iero, bassist Tim Payne, guitarist Travis Stever, and drummer Tucker Rule unveil a dazzling new psyche-metal track Benadryl Subreddit. The track was produced by Alex Newport (Mars Volta, Frank Turner, City & Colour) and recorded at Rancho De La Luna in Joshua Tree, CA. About the track: Frank Iero: “Benadryl’s title comes from a conversation that Mikey Way (My Chemical Romance) and I were having one night on tour about sober guys finding out legal ways of getting high without doing actual drugs and messing with their sobriety. The music for this song came about when I knew we were going into the desert to record with Alex Newport at Rancho De La Luna. I had just received a new guitar in the mail from Ben Wasser at Guitarworks called the ‘Shaft’ and I got to thinking about the desert and what I thought that guitar should sound like in that setting. That riff came out immediately. “Benadryl Subreddit” represents the heat of the day out in the desert, sweating bullets and going fast.” Travis [Read More]

The Dirty Nil takeover The Independent in San Francisco for stellar performance

June 22, 2023

Tuesday night we headed to the Independent in San Francisco to catch the co-headlining tour of The Dirty Nil and Daniel Romano’s Outfit, along with opener Wander. The Dirty Nil had released their album Free Rein to Passions and San Francisco was one of the last few stops of their US/Canada tour.  We arrived early and caught the local opener Wander and they gave us a fierce instrumental rock set.  Daniel Romano’s Outfit blew us away with their fun and engaging set. The crowd was ready to rock as The Dirty Nil took the stage. The energy in the room ramped up even more as the trio kicked off their set with adrenaline blazing. They were incredible! They reminded me of another trio that was my favorite band in the 90’s Material Issue. If you know, you know.  This Canadian rock band gave it there all and then some. What I really move about them, is that you can’t place them into one single genre or style of music. They bring it all, rock, punk, pop, [Read More]

Sacramento’s own Sages releases new single Walk Away

June 22, 2023

One of our long time favorite Sacramento bands, Sages has released their new single Walk Away. The song will be on their upcoming EP to be released later this summer. The track and EP were engineered, mixed, and produced by Beau Burchell (Saosin, Senses Fail, Erra, etc). Check out a preview of the song below or Listen to “Walk Away” on Spotify | Apple Music     More about Sages: Led by the majestic and emotive vocals of Dean Vidovich, Sages takes listeners on a journey of self-introspection and inspiration. Vidovich’s evocative voice serves as a guide, leading the way through a sonic landscape that blends atmospheric vocal melodies and multi-layered guitars crafted by Vidovich and Ryan Cavalli. This fusion creates a tidal sound wave rarely achieved within such concise song structures. Providing the solid foundation that supports the band’s expansive palette are Matt Franks (Simon Says) on bass guitar and Chris Robyn (Black Map, Crosses, Far) on drums, whose thunderous rhythm section captivates and entrances listeners. Through happenstance, the power of song, exploration, and analysis of the [Read More]
