Today I want to introduce you to Mike Trisain who is from New York, New York and is providing us with some great Rock/Edge Metal music . We had a chance to catch up with Mike and we hope you get to know this great musician. His music reminds me of early Billy Idol with a dark side of David Bowie and an edgier Alice in Chains. I think you are going to enjoy this!
Music Junkie Press: Mike, you are an inspiration to others and your music will always be soul touching and we are grateful for that! Keep giving us such beautiful music to be thankful for.
Mike Trisain: First off I would like to thank you for the opportunity to talk with you about my music I really appreciate it.
Music Junkie Press: Can you tell us about how you would describe your genre of music?
Mike Trisain: To sum up my music in a genre I would have to say mostly rooted in Hard rock and heavy metal and add rock folk so you could say Hard metal folk rock…:)
Music Junkie Press: What are you currently working on that you would like to share with our audience?
Mike Trisain: Currently I am working on my third album of music the music that you hear on line that I have uploaded is only a small selection from my catalog one of the most recent songs that I have wrote is about a traumatic life experience so it is a little dark to say the least.
Music Junkie Press: How old were you when you first got the music bug?
Mike Trisain: Well I would have to say almost my whole life I started playing guitar when I was 9 years old so my whole life basically I have loved music.
Music Junkie Press: D you have any dates for upcoming performances that you can share with us?
Mike Trisain: No dates as of yet for upcoming performances I will on occasion go to an open mic and try out new songs on an audience to see what works. I have plans to do some shows in the near future but nothing set as of yet.
Music Junkie Press: If you could do a remake of any song from any genre, what would it be and why?
Mike Trisain: As for remaking a song actually I have a few in mind one that jumps out would be thank you by Led Zeppelin it just always struck me since the first time I heard it.
Music Junkie Press: If you could go back to your 14 year old self, what advice would you give to your 14 year old self?
Mike Trisain: Don’t fall in love too fast I love women but let’s just say I suffer from broken hearts disease…:(
Music Junkie Press: What are the next three songs on your Ipod or Music shuffle?
Mike Trisain: The Killing Words by Queensryche Bu2B by Rush and Lifer by Down
Music Junkie Press: We believe so much that Music Saves people or helps them through the roughest patches of their lives. Personally, Music comforted me and touched me during the recent loss of my Father. Is there a particular song or band that helped you through a difficult time in your life and can you share?
Mike Trisain: You and me have something in common I lost my mother and my grandmother last year 2 days apart from each other it was a very bad time in my life what actually helped me through it was writing. My own music was actually the only music that I was listening to at the time everything else had so many memories attached to it that I couldn’t listen to anything old so I guess you could say my own writing got me through it good or bad it is what it is.
Music Junkie Press: Can you tell us about your video for your song “Don’t Walk Away“?
Mike Trisain: I would say this video is the one it is a tribute to my Mom and for all those who have lost a loved one to cancer The song was written about how I watched my step-father suffer as he looked upon the love of his life dieing. May all who have suffered find peace in the after life. You can watch it here:
I hope everyone heads over to Reverbnation to check out Mike’s music and his other social media sites. Some of my other favorites from Mike are the “Drowned” and “So Pure”.
~ Enjoy, Marisol
