If you had to describe To Kill A Monster, there is no way to limit your words since they have a great sound that boasts of everything from rock, alternative, pop punk and so much more. Their  high energy infectious style can be found in their latest single, Confetti. Check out the video for it here:

Now that you are instantly hooked on them, check out our interview with To Kill A Monster (TKAM):

Music Junkie Press: Thank you so much for taking the time out to talk with us here at Music Junkie Press! Can you tell us what you’re currently working on?

TKAM:  We’re currently working on playing out as much as possible to get “This One’s For You” to as many people as we can. Hopefully a new video will on the way soon too!

Music Junkie Press: We just saw the great video for the new single, Confetti, can you tell us more about that track and the inspiration behind it?

Joey: “Confetti is written on my thoughts towards my own funeral. Not only with how I hope my friends will remember me, but it’s also based on this bands mentality of finding the positivity in all things. We celebrate the life they lived, instead of mourning the life they lost.”

Music Junkie Press: You guys bring a blend of great music styles together, can you tell us about your music and which bands influenced most of you to achieve your signature sound?

TKAM:   All four of us have entirely different taste in music, so when we all get together, To Kill A Monster is what happens. We’ve never gone after one sound, or been influenced by anyone in particular, but we all share a fondness of a few bands like The Offspring, Every Time I Die, Story Of The Year, A Day To Remember, and Eve 6.

Music Junkie Press:  What is in store for To Kill A Monster for 2015?

TKAM:  After working towards as many new shows and opportunities as possible, we hope to start working on our next record! It most likely won’t get finished this year, but we’d love to start on it.

Music Junkie Press:  With so many changes in the music industry over the past decade, what is something you would like to see changed?

TKAM:  We miss the days of analog, and of going to the store to buy that newest record. It’s easier than ever to find the music you want, just at the click of a  button, but the journey gets lost. Now with so much music at your finger tips, it’s almost like the bar has been lowered on what’s great music, or even a great musician. Makes it increasingly hard to stand out among the crowd.

Music Junkie Press: If you guys could put together your dream lineup, what three other bands would you love to see on the bill?

TKAM:   Story Of The Year, Cage The Elephant, and A Day To Remember would be a fantastic line up that we feel we would not only fit on, but enjoy immensely.

Music Junkie Press: You guys are quite hard working and always playing shows, do you have any plans on coming out to the West Coast?

TKAM:   Touring is what we’ve always strived towards. If the chance to come out to the West Coast happens, we’ll take it in a heart beat.

Music Junkie Press: One thing for certain at a To Kill A Monster show, is that your live performances bring out energy and pure fun. For the energy you guys bring to the stage, do you guys have any preshow rituals?

TKAM:   Gallons of water, ample stretching, and we’ve done small things in the past, but nothing ever stuck. Maybe one day we’ll find that perfect ritual!

Music Junkie Press: We have been trying to get the youth back out into the live music scene as it was once a lively place.

Can you tell our audience what they can expect at one of your shows and why it is important to get out to live shows?

TKAM:   A high energy show that they won’t soon forget. On top of a fun, memorable experience, we’ve worked non stop at perfecting our songs live and not just on record. As far as live shows go, everyone should catch as many as they can, because all of those music giants all started on a smaller stage somewhere. You never know who you can catch before they make it.

Music Junkie Press: If you could be trapped in a TV show for a week, which would it be and why?

Chris: “If it counts as a TV show, I would say WWE Raw, because I love wrestling and it would sweet. If that doesn’t count then Arrested Development,

 because Will Arnet”

Mike: “The Walking Dead, because I wish I was in the zombie Apocalypse”

Tyler: “Orange Is The New Black, because womens prison”

Joey : “I would be content in way too many, but if I had to pick one I’ll just go for One Piece and give Luffy a run for his money to be the king of the pirates!”

Music Junkie Press: If we could peak into your Ipod, what artist or song might we be most surprised at finding in there?

   Chris – “Johnny Cash”

   Mike – “Eskimo Callboy”

Tyler – “The Forest Gump Soundtrack, great 50’s through 70’s mix”

Joey – “The Bunny The Bear”

Music Junkie Press: What do you guys like to do when you are not working on music?

TKAM:   Video games, sleep, cooking, frisbee golf, and hanging out.

Music Junkie Press: Lastly, is there anything else you would like to share with our audience and your fans?

TKAM:   Thank you for everything that you do, because we’re nothing with out you. If you like what we do then please share our music to all of your friends, and then have them share it all of theirs. Eventually we’ll be ready to hang out with all of you. Just kidding. We’ve been ready.
