BrainStorm

I am sure you thought it was getting late and I was not going to give you my Tusdays Travel band to check out…. Well I might be late due to recuperating from the car accident over the weekend but I didn’t want you to miss this band!!

Straight from Jelgava, Latvia is a fun alternative rock band, BrainStorm (Latvian: Prāta Vētra) that you have to take a listen to. Definitely not a new band. This band is a strong group of friends who had a dream to play music and in 1989 set out to conquer the hearts of music lovers. Their music which has sounds reminiscent of Parlotones, ColdPlay, even U2, but yet they have something so new and fresh to them that I just can’t put my finger on. They have catchy melody fused with passionate vocals and an energetic sound that becomes infectious. Here is a great fun video for their song, “Europa” which I love:

If you ever watched Eurovision, you might have caught them in 2000 as they placed third. So make sure to check out BrainStorm (Prata Vetra) from Latvia and I am sure you will be adding some of their music to your playlist. I would love to see them come to the US to play. You can also watch some of their incredible live performances on their Youtube channel. For now, I will have to buy some of their music that you can get straight from Itunes.

We also received confirmation that Brainstorm (Prata Vetra) will be coming to the US in October to perform at Filter Magazine Culture Collide Festival which is being held in Los Angeles October 10 – 12. We will be heading down and hope to bring you a video interview with Prata Vetra!
