I have to tell you about this great new band from San Francisco, The Wearies. They remind me of a modern day improved version of the Byrds fronted by Elvis Costello. You have the feel good energy flowing and you just can’t sit back and listen; you have to MOVE! You can definitely call them a fun rock band with just the right amount of pop blended in for good measure. Truly a musical fusion you are going to enjoy similar to another one of my all time favorites, Joe Jackson.
The Wearies has Erik Mullins on vocals and guitar, Robbie Martinez on lead guitar, Kevin Michael on Bass and Adam Monroe on drums. I really hope to catch this band soon since I am already singing along to their songs that I listen to on their website. You will love America Miss, where they truly shine with their edgy pop/new wave sound. Here is a video fro that song:
If you are lucky enough to live near San Francisco, you can catch them at their next show at Hotel Utah on May 10th. You can click here to purchase your tickets to that show! I am hoping to be able to see that show and I will see if I can bring you an interview with them.
For now, head over to their website and take a listen and then you can go to Itunes and buy some of their music. They will be adding their new self titled album soon to Itunes so be on the lookout for that one. Some of my favorite songs are “Tragedy Girl”, ‘Good Night and Good Luck”, “Dynamite Moves” and “America Miss”. I am going to head over now and check out the rest… so join me in listening to The Wearies!
~Enjoy, Marisol
