The spotlight is shining on Bonelang as they release a celestial powerful new music video for Mushroom Moon. The alternative duo have successfully delivered a fusion of hip-hop, soulful lyrics, electronic and alt-rock. The break-up style song captures a depth of emotion and a raw honest vulnerability can be felt with each spoken word. You can’t help but be drawn to this genre-defying track. Samy Language comments about the song,

“‘Mushroom Moon’ is a breakup song. It started as a deep house track but after three years of molding, it has turned into what you are hearing in this video. Everyone knows heartache and how all-consuming it can feel. Here, these elemental emotions are placed in a cosmic yet intimate setting. Common wisdom will tell you that the vastness of space would seem to make us insignificant in comparison; perhaps instead the fact that weā€™re the only known entities capable of such breathtaking sorrow makes our small corner of the universe the most remarkable. Our intent in one sentence would be to establish purpose behind our emotions when staring down meaninglessness.”

The video is interesting in itself as it was filmed insideĀ Adler PlanetariumĀ based in Chicago after finding the inspiration fromĀ Stanley Kubrickā€™s 2001: A Space Odyssey. This is one of the few times anyone has ever been allowed to record inside the Adler. It was filmed in one single take. Check out the cool video here:

Bonelang are set to return to New York City for several shows in July, highlighted with a headlining show at The Studio at Webster Hall on Saturday, July 29th, alongside Brandon Markell Holmes and special guest Vesper. You can over to TicketWeb here for details and to pick up your tickets! Ā Other dates in July include Ludlow House on July 27th and Sofar Sounds on July 28th.
