October is Anti-Bullying Awareness Month and Black Veil Brides are doing what they can to help eradicate bullying! I have brought you stories in the past about the increase of bullying and the severity of it even leading to deaths. You can read more about my article on Amanda Todd; Bully No More here.
Black Veil Brides have created an awesome shirt that contains the lyrics, IF WE STAND TOGETHER WE WILL BE UNBROKEN, from their song, “Unbroken“. They have teamed up with The Bully Project and 100% of the profits are being donated directly to The Bully Project in hopes that they can help eradicate bullying forever. In addition if you take a picture of yourself wearing the shirt and email it to Black Veil Brides at [email protected] they will include it in a collage they are putting together for the Anti-Bullying cause. The shirt comes in a short sleeve shirt as well as a tank top and is available for a limited time ending on August 21st. Take a look at the cool design and you can purchase here:
I applaud Black Veil Brides for doing their share in trying to help stop bullying. In the past, bullying might have just included name calling or it meant dealing with the taunting and aggressiveness of the “school or class” bully. But in today’s world, bullying has taken on a whole new meaning. With the introduction of the internet, social media sites, texting, sexting, etc has created a hyper bullying situation. From young teens who have been bullied in chat rooms, or for expressing their individuality with clothing, hair, music preference to complete Facebook pages or entire websites dedicated to hating on one person. The teens are not the only ones who suffer from this. Artists, musicians and everyday people are experiencing high levels of bullying in their everyday life.
When I was growing up, if I didn’t like a band, I just didn’t listen to them. But today, when someone doesn’t like a band or an artist, they create entire hate groups and hide behind false profiles/names to unleash their words of hate in order to torment their target. Black Veil Brides has had to deal with their fair share of haters of their music from teens as well as from other artists. It truly disgusts me, and I witnessed it first hand at the Revolver Golden Gods Awards earlier this year. The old saying, “If you don’t have anything nice to say, then don’t say anything at all” has not been taught well enough to this generation. During my interview with Jinxx last month, he shared his personal account of how he dealt with bullying for his love of classical music. You can read more from that interview with Jinxx here.
Check out this cool video that has the “Unbroken” song.

It is time for things to change and we must stop bullying before it continues to take innocent victims through a downward spiral. This type of hate can last a lifetime! So, join me in buying the Black Veil Brides tee shirt and we together will be UNBROKEN!
