Joey Jordison is well known for his over the top speed drumming when he was in Slipknot and also his sold intense guitar in Murderdolls. Joey had announced last year his new band, Scar The Martyr and they have been getting a lot of well received attention for their music. Well, now you may just have the opportunity to sing in Joey’s band, Scar The Martyr. On April 10th, they made a statement about parting ways with their vocalist. Here is that post:
“To address the recent Scar The Marty news out there and make sure all the facts are straight, Scar The Martyr has parted ways with Henry, not the other way around. With all that’s been going on of late we have been forced to take a very careful look at how we are moving forward and with there being some creative and personal differences it made sense to move on without Henry.
We have been very focused on new Scar The Martyr material and we couldn’t be more excited with how the music is coming out. We are in the process of looking for a new singer and will have news on the search very soon.
We appreciate all the support from our fans and we can’t wait to share the next phase of STM with all of you. We wish Henry best of luck going forward.
Thanks,
Scar the Martyr”
So now the search begins. They put out a request to the public in search of their new singer. They recently posted on Facebook the following:
“As recently mentioned, Scar The Martyr is looking for a new vocalist. Before we make a final decision, we have decided to open up submissions to the public. If you are interested, email your tryout video to [email protected]. We look forward to seeing and hearing your submissions.
Scar The Martyr”
So if you think you have what it takes, put together your submission video and send it in! I will leave you with their video for their song, Blood Host which is off of their self titled debut album. Jordison says of the track, “It’s very coincidental that ‘Blood Host’ is our first track and video because it was the first song I wrote for this project when it was nothing but a mere idea at best. Songs, of course, followed, and molded into an overall feel, concept, and now a full-length album. ‘Blood Host’ has it all: hypnotic riffs, soaring choruses, pummeling breakdowns, and the lyrics are infectious in every sense. We are very proud of the track and it pretty much lets you know where we are coming from, musically, and what we are all about live. Scar the Martyr, up close and personal.”
