Do you remember a time when heavy metal bands created a full song that delivered amazing intros, heavy guitars, thundering bass drums and muddy bass lines fused with melodic rock vocals? I remember and I loved the fact that bands like Iron Maiden, Queensryche, Dream Theater would give us just that. Well, I have a new band to tell you about that does just that! Get to know the heavy metal band, Ghost of War hailing from Gettysburg, PA.
Ghost of War formed in 2009 by Thane Farace and Ronnie Peterson. Their vision was to create the type of band THEY wanted to see and hear live. They have definitely succeeded at creating a heavy metal band that integrates a variety of styles from thrash, bluegrass, old style rock and roll and fused it to create their own unique style.
Their debut CD, “ONLY DEATH IS REAL” was released in late 2012 and still has consistently garnered attention and popularity. They are a Nationally sponsored Jagermeister band and were chosen to perform at the Welcome to Rockville Festival on April 27th in Jacksonville, Florida. They continue to gain sponsorship and endorsements as everyone who seems to listen to them, gets hooked! Most recently, they announced they are endorsed by Epiphone Guitars.
Their single, Beautiful Lies is the track that I heard tonight and was immediately drawn to. It has an amazing intro reminiscent of Iron Maiden or Queensryche and comes in with melodic vocals that mesmerize you. The muddy bass lines blended with the down and dirty guitars will have you headbanging and wishing you could catch these guys live. I know I want to see them! Love this band. They do several gigs a year in Baltimore as well as other towns. Definitely a band you want to see live. And pretty cool guys too. No egos here. The CD is AWESOME! Every song Killer. m/m/
