Dee Snider Sliders with signature Dee hair via French Fried Onions!

These sliders pack a punch and are full of flavor, just like Dee and his larger than life personality!Ā Makes 24 sliders

Items Needed:

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 24 dinner rolls or slider rolls
  • Cheese ( we used Muenster but you can use any sliced cheese to your taste)
  • 3 tablespoons barbecue sauce
  • 1 large red onion, peeled and very thinly sliced ( we used a mandolin slicer)
  • 1 1/2 cups lowfat buttermilk (can also substitute with lowfat milk)
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • canola oil for frying

Directions:Ā

1. Preheat oven to 350Ā°. Cover a baking sheet with foil and spray with cooking spray.

2. Mix together ground beef. You don’t need to season the burger since you have the onions and barbecue sauce. If you like, you can still add salt and pepper. Ā Form ground beef into slider side and make 24 sliders.

3. Cook at 350Ā° for 25 to 30 minutes until browned on the outside. You can cook to your degree of wellness required.

While sliders are cooking, you can prepare the Dee Snider French Fried Onion hair.Ā

4. Preheat oil in a deep pot or a fryer at 350Ā°.

5. Add onions and buttermilk to a large bowl and toss until mixed and fully coated.

6. In a second bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and cayenne.

7. In small batches take coated onions and dredge them through the seasoned flour mixture, shaking to remove excess, and fry for 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 minutes on each side (or until golden.)

8. Place onions on a paper towel lined platter and sprinkle with a tiny bit of salt.

9. Repeat until all onions are golden and crispy.

10. Prior to taking sliders out spread Ā a small amount of barbecue sauce on top and place a slice of cheese to melt.

11. Place slider on bun or dinner roll and top with a bunch of crispy onions and have them hanging out the front like Dee’s famous hair!

12. Place sliders on a platter and Enjoy!
