Lemmy cuts set short: PLEASE TAKE A REST LEMMY! WE LOVE YOU!

Lemmy

Exactly one month ago, I told you about Motorhead cancelling their European tour dates due to Lemmy Kilmister health issues. One of the tour dates they did not cancel was Waken Open Air Festival and maybe they should have. it is reported that they had to cut the set short due to Lemmy’s health.  They had longer pauses between songs and after one long pause, Lemmy came out for another song and never returned.

It was reported on Wacken Open Air Festival the following post in German:

Thank you so much, guys!
according to Google Translate here it is in English:

More than 30 minutes could rock the Black Stage Motörhead Lemmy and has given all things to give you a great show.
He is doing well – but the temperatures and circumstances have meant that just did not go without compromising quality.

We are thrilled and proud that Phil, Mikkey, and especially Mr. Rock n Roll himself, Lemmy Kilmister, 2013 at W: O: A was and have done everything humanly possible to play this show. Thank you so much, guys!

Now, I am just hoping that Lemmy takes some well needed time off to fully recuperate. He is too important in my life as well as many fans, where we do not want his health to get any worse. Here are the songs that Motorhead got to play before cutting the set short:

01. I Know How To Die
02. Damage Case
03. Stay Clean
04. Metropolis
05. Over The Top
06. The Chase Is Better Than The Catch

Please Lemmy!!

TAKE A REST!

WE LOVE YOU!

Below you will find my original post on Lemmy’s health from last month.

ORIGINAL POST DATE: JUL 2, 2013

Just yesterday we heard about Motorhead having to cancel not just another show but the entire European tour dates due to Lemmy Kilmister’s health.  There was quite a flurry of concern as  many news sites were reporting, Lemmy’s “failing health”,  “Lemmy not looking too good” and other serious concerns. It led to all of us concerned about the future of our Father of Metal!! Earlier this year Lemmy had a defibrilator  chest implant installed to treat his irregular heartbeat and assist in regulating him.  He also most recently suffered from an unspecified hematoma, which if Lemmy is on any type blood thinners could lead to a more serious problem.

Today Lemmy released his own post about the cancellation on his Facebook page. Here is that post:

“Regretfully, Motörhead announces it has had to cancel its remaining six summer festival appearances. The band hate to let their fans down by missing any shows, but they expect to be back in full force this Fall.

As you may have heard, earlier this Spring Lemmy had some medical maintenance for the long-term good, He was, at that time, advised to rest, but once feeling better, he of course resumed his life as usual. He has since been advised that he should immediately take some more time to rest

Lemmy says: I’d like to thank everyone who wish me well, it was a tough decision for me as I don’t like to disappoint the fans especially in times where economy is bad and people spent their money to see us. But sometimes you can’t do anything else than following doctor’s orders, but be sure we will be
back and kick everybody’s ass.

There you have it! You can now stop worrying, redirect those cards, flowers and chocolates to a loved one (who will appreciate them far more), keep calm and carry on! Lemmy and Motörhead certainly are! Thanks and see you in the Fall for their new album in the form of a massive Aftershock…”

We all wish Lemmy well and are grateful that he is heeding the doctors orders and taking the time to rest and recuperate. I have no doubt that Lemmy will be coming back stronger and ready to kick our asses with their new album!

So for now, let’s crank some Motorhead. I leave you with my top 10 Motorhead songs as well as a slideshow of photos we took at Motorhead‘s show last year on July 1, 2012 at Shoreline.
